     Antony supposedly came from Fez or Salee in Africa. He was probably the son of Jan Janse of Haarlem, Holland, who was a freebooter and pirate who settled in Salee, Morocco where he married and became a Muslim. He deserted his wife and children who he had left in Haarlem.
