He is listed as C.J. Dubois (64, b. NY, farmer), Elizabeth is 64, b. NY.⁵ The 1870 census lists Cornelius I Dubois and Elizabeth at Summit, Juneau County, WI, (he is 74, b. NY, retired farmer; she is 73, b. NY) They are next door to Jeremiah Dubois (36, b. NY, farmer) with Iradou(?) Dubois (26, b. OH), and 3 children, all b. WI: Clarence (6), Mary (4), and Eva (1). On the same page is also a John DuBois (31, b. NY, farmer) with his family.³
     He received a War of 1812 Pension and Bounty land. He enlisted 6 Sep 1814 and was discharged 31 Dec 1814. He served in Corp Capt Peter P Wynkoop's Co N Y Mil. In 1855 he lived in Atkinson, Jefferson County, WI; and in 1871 in Summit, Juneau County, WI.⁴
     Johannes DuBois is the eldest son of Johannes Cornelius Dubois and Maria Suyland; the grand son of Cornelius Dubois and Geertje Van Vliet; and the great-grandson of Johannes DuBois and Judith (Judike) Wynkoop.²
     Three daughters (Gertrude Maria Sherman Herring Johnson (b.1823), Charlotte Dubois Johnson (b.1828), Elvina Dubois Johnson (b.1830 d.1894) married in PA three Johnson brothers, sons of Andrew Johnson.² Name variation: Cornelius D Dubois.¹
