     George J Brinkerhoff was born on 28 February 1761.¹ He married Maria Van Harlingen on 19 September 1789.^1,2 George J Brinkerhoff died on 29 March 1813.¹ He was buried in Selover Cemetery in Niles.²

     He removed with the family to Conewago, PA. It is unclear whether John and George were born before or after the move.¹ He was a minister in the Dutch Reformed Church.^3,2

     Gerrit Brinkerhoff was baptized on 23 October 1681 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC) (sponsors: Joris Hanz Bergen, Stoffel Probasco, and Sara Strykers; father Abram Joris, mother Aaltje Stryker.)^1,2

     Gilliam J Brinkerhoff was born on 22 February 1754.¹ He married Elizabeth C Ackerman, daughter of Cornelius E Ackerman and Lena Van Voorhies.¹

     Hartman Brinkerhoff was born on 15 April 1781 at Bergen, NJ.³ He married Eleanor Clendenny on 6 November 1802 at Bergen, NJ.

     Hartman was a descendant of Joris Dircksen Brinckerhoff (Joris Dirckszen Brinkerhof), the first American ancestor of the Brinckerhoff family, born in the Netherlands about 1609, died in Brooklyn, January 16, 1661. He arrived in New Amsterdam (now New York) in 1638, coming from the county of Drent or Drenthe in the United Provinces, and having lived some time in Flushing, a seaport in Zeeland, before his departure. After spending a short time in New Amsterdam, then a small community of a few hundred souls, he settled in Brooklyn, where he obtained a grant of land by brief dated March 23, 1646. He was a man of worth, and was an elder of the Brooklyn Church at the time of his death, the first edifice of which he was greatly instrumental in planning and erecting. He married, in Holland, Susannah Dubbels, whom he brought with him to America, and who survived him many years. His children were: I. Derick, who was slain by the Indians and left no issue. 2. Hendrick, who settled on the eastern bank of the Hackensack river in New Jersey, where he bought a tract of land, June 17, 1685, not long surviving the purchase; married Claesie Boom- gaert and left sons, Cornelius, Derick and Jacobus, whose descendants, now considerably scattered, write their name Brinkerhoff; of the three sons above named, Cornelius, the eldest, settled at Communipaw, and died in 1770, leaving sons, Hendrick and Hartman, who were the ancestors of the Brinkerhoff family of Bergen; Derick and Jacobus bought the paternal estate; the former had descendants at Hackensack and Schraalenburgh. 3.      Hendrick Brinkerhoff was baptized on 25 February 1629 at Amsterdam (DRC (New Church)) (sponsors: Jan Dubbels and Anneken Dubbles; father Jores Dirxsz, mother Susanna Dubbels.)^2,1 He married Claesie Cornelis Bogert, daughter of Cornelius Janse Bogert and Geesje Willemse, in 1658.^2,3 Hendrick Brinkerhoff died circa 1710 at Ridgefield Park, NJ.²

     Hendrick and Dirck were twins.¹
     Konight has two daughters Geertje and Aeltje, with a notation "ERROR." Geertje married Bastiaen Van Giesen on 25 Jun 1668 (no source); BC-Families Van Giesen File has Aeltje married to Bastiaen Van Giesen on 24 Jun 1688 (DRC Bergen). It seems likely that Konight is indeed in error.
     Both Konight and BC-Families Brinkerhof File list another son Joris (b. 1675, d. 1692, Bergen #127.)^4,5,6 Name variation: Hendrick Jorisen Brinkerhoff.

     Hendrick Brinkerhoff married Lammetje Rapalje, daughter of Daniel Rapalje and Aeltie Janse Cornell.^1,2

     Hendrick Brinkerhoff was named as executor in Daniel Rapalje's will dated 17 March 1736/37.³

     Henry H Brinkerhoff married Elizabeth Vreeland, daughter of Michael Vreeland and Ann Vreeland, on 6 June 1855 at Jersey City, NJ, (Bergen DRC.)²

     Henry J Brinkerhoff was born in 1751.¹ He was baptized on 4 July 1751.¹ He married Jannetje DeBaun, daughter of Christian De Baun and Rachel Helm.¹

     He removed with the family to Conewago, PA. It is unclear whether John and George were born before or after the move.¹ They have children, but they are not continued in the file.¹

     Ida Brinkerhoff was of Newtown acc. to her marriage certificate.^1,2 She married Jan Monfort, son of Pieter Monfoort and Sarah de Plancken.^2,1,3 (Banns on 17 May 1687 at DRC, Flatbush, NY. He was Jan Monfort, of J; she Ida Abrams, of N.Town.)^2,3

     Isaac Brinkerhoff was born in March 1714 at DRC, Jamaica, NY. He married Sara Rapalje, daughter of Daniel Rapalje and Aeltie Janse Cornell.^2,1

     Issac Brinkerhoff was born on 26 April 1699.^2,4 He was baptized on 28 May 1699.³ He married Diana Brinkerhoff, daughter of Dirck Abrams Brinkerhof and Aeltie Couwenhoven.¹ Issac Brinkerhoff died on 4 June 1745.¹

     Issac Brinkerhoff and Diana had more cildren, Anna was the first.¹ Diana and Issac were cousins.¹ Issac occupied the farm near Narrow Passage that was conveyed to him by his father on 2 Mar 1726.¹

     Jacob Brinkerhoff was born on 19 November 1721 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ.¹ He married Antie Van Voorhies, daughter of Lucas Van Voorhies and Annatje Kip, on 21 April 1749 at Schraalenburgh, NJ, (DRC.)²

     Jacob A Brinkerhoff was born on 6 August 1802.¹ He married Elizabeth Van Saun.^2,1 Jacob A Brinkerhoff died on 25 April 1866.¹ He was buried in Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack, His parents, his wife, and his son Albert are buried in the same plot (67-A.)¹

     Jacob J Brinkerhoff was born on 22 February 1756.¹ He married Anatie D Demarest, daughter of David Demarest and Margrietje Durie, on 25 February 1779 at Bergen County, NJ.^1,2

     James D Brinkerhoff was born in 1834 at New Jersey.^1,2 He married Jane Alcorn, daughter of William Alcorn and Jane Addy.¹ James D Brinkerhoff died at New Jersey.¹

     The 1880 census lists James Brinkerhoff and Jane at North Bergen, Hudson County, NJ, with six children, all b. NJ: Wm. D. (22, farmer), Cornelius (20, farmer), Mary (16), Geo. (14), James (12), and Walter (10). James is 46, b. NJ, parents b. NJ, sailor; Jane is 46, b. NY, father b. Ireland, mother b. NY.²

     James G Brinkerhoff was born in 1778 at New Jersey.¹ He married Elisabeth Yereance.² James G Brinkerhoff died on 20 February 1856 at Ridgefield Township, NJ.^3,2 He and Elisabeth Brinkerhoff were buried in Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack.²

     The 1850 census lists James G Brinkerhoff and Elisabeth at Hackensack Township, NJ, James is 72, b. NJ, farmer; Elisabeth is 71, b. NJ. They are next door to an unknown person.¹

     Jannetje Brinkerhof was baptized on 1 January 1755 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)² She (1) married Cornelius Demarest, son of Samuel Demarest and Margaret Brinkerhoff.^3,4 Jannetje Brinkerhof (2) married Douwe Westervelt, son of Peter Westervelt and Catlyntie Taelman.⁴

     Jannetje Brinkerhof and Cornelius had two sons, who are mentioned in their grandfather's will:
1. Samuel, b. 18 Aug 1774, bp. 4 Sep 1774 (Schr. p.177)
2. Jacob, b. 17 Jan 1777, bp. 2 Feb 1777 (Schr. p.181).^5,4 Jannetje Brinkerhof and Douwe had two children, Cornelius and Cathryntje; they are mentioned in Peter's will.⁶ Married name: Demarest. Married name: Westervelt.

     John H Brinkerhoff was born in 1819.² He (1) married Naoma.³ John H Brinkerhoff (2) married Jane R Banta on 4 January 1881 at Ridgefield, NJ.^1,4 John H Brinkerhoff died on 14 November 1887 at Ridgefield, NJ.¹ He was buried in Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack.²

     The 1850 census lists John H Brinkerhoff and Naoma, with Naoma C (8), Henry (4), and Mary Clarissa (7m), all b. NJ. They are next door to (all b. NJ) Henry J. Brinkerhoff (57, farmer) with Mary (60), Hannah Maria (25), Eliza (28), Mary C (5), and Cornelius H (1) Brinkerhoff. These are probably his parents, as they are living in the same house in 1860.^3,5
