He was Jacob Symonsen Van Winkel, ym; she Jacomyntje Matheus, yd. Rec. cert. to Achquecknonck April 20.)7 Jacob Symonsen Van Winkle (2) married Catharine Bekling or Beckling on 24 November 1734.8,9

Jacob Walings Van Winkle1

     Jacob Walings Van Winkle was from Winkel near Hoorn when he married.2,3 He married Tryntje Jacobs on 28 December 1642 at Hoorn, The Netherlands, (DRC.)2,4,5,3 (Banns on 13 December 1642. He was Jacob Walighsz, jm from Bil (Het Bilt), liv. at Ramen in Hoorn; she Trijn Jacobs, jd, from Hoorn, liv. at the Kruisstraat there.)4 Jacob Walings Van Winkle died before 17 August 1657 at Pavonia, NJ, (now Jersey City); as his wife remarried.2,6

     Ariaentje Walings (from Nieuwnederlant) became a member of the church in Hoorn on 5 Oct 1631; had a child Joopje bp. in 1633 (vader Frans Pieters Sloos, liv. at the Nieuwe Noort; she from Friesland, but grew up and was married "in de verginjes"), and married Cornelis Jansz in 1635
     Jacob became a member of the church in Hoorn in 1633 (together with a Simon Walingh, both from Nieuwnederlant); and again in 1642, when he is "Uyt the Virginis." He married in 1642 with Tryntje Jacobs, and they have two children bp. in Hoorn.
     The Van Winkle Genealogy mentions Simon, but not Ariaentie or Jacomyntie; and only treats the descendants of Jacob.7,8,9
     Jacob came to New Netherland first c. 1624, he returned to Hoorne in 1633. Jacob and Tryntje arrived in New Netherland (Renselaerwyck) c. 1648 with three children; and they are listed in the members since 1649 (but before 1660) list, a short distance away from Adriaentie Walingen
     He was confirmed in his small burger rights on 17 Apr 1657.10,3,11 The town of Wallingford is named for him.2 Name variation: Jacob Waling.2 Name variation: Jacob Wallingen Waligh.2 Name variation: Jacob Wallingen Van Hoorn.12
