NJ.2 The 1885 census lists Addison Ely and Emily at Rutherford, Bergen County, NJ, with five children; two houses up from John F Ropes.5 The 1900 census lists Addison Ely and Emily at Rutherford, NJ, with 10 children. Addison is 47, b. May 1853, MA, a lawyer; Emily is 43, b. Mar 1857. They were married 25 years. She had 11 children, 10 living. The eldest, Addison, Jr (23, b.
