France.3 The 1870 census lists Henry Bick at New York City (ward 3), with his Henry Bick (30, b. NY, office clerk. Henry is 60, b. Germany, hotel keeper. There are a number of other people living at the same address.4 The 1880 census lists Henry Bick at New York City (ED 12), with his niece Louisa Sexour? (16, b. NY, father b. Hanover, mother b. Baden), and two boarders (John (50) and Charles (16) Varnell, both b. Louisiana, bird dealers). Henry is 68, b. Hanover, parents b. Hanover, he has a liquor store.5
