     Johannes Pietersen Van Brugh was from Haarlem, The Netherlands, acc. to his marriage certificate.3 He married Trijntje Roelofs, daughter of Roelof Jansen and Anneke Jans, on 24 April 1658 at New York City (DRC.)4,5,1,6,7 (Banns on 29 March 1658. He was Johannes Pieterszen Ver Brugge, from Haerlem; she Catharina Roelofs, wid. of Lucas Rodenborg.)8

     Johannes Pietersen Van Brugh and Trijntje had one more daughter, Helena, who died young (bp. 4 Apr 1659; parents Johannes Van Brug and Catharina Roelofs; sp. Johannes de Peyster, Annetje Bogardus, and Marritje Loockermans; NYDC p.52). Konight does not have son Johannes, and there is no baptism for him.9,10 Johannes Van Brug and Cathryntje Roelofs made a will on 23 August 1662. It was a joint will. Survivor to be sole heir. She was with child, and had two children by a former marriage, with Lucas Rodenburch, named Elizabeth and Lucretia Rodenburgh. Witnesses: Johannes De Peyster and Jacobus Van de Water.11,12 Johannes Van Brug was named as executor in Marretje Jans's will dated 7 May 1677.13
     Johannes and Tryntje were listed in the NYDC member list of 1686 as "Johannes Van Brug and his wife Catharina Roelofs" (member #153-4, name#189-90.)14,15 Johannes Pietersen Van Brugh made a will on 22 December 1696. It was proved in 1700. He mention his wife Catrina; his daughter Elizabeth Rodenbergh, now wife of John Donaldson (marr. 29 Mar 1691), of New Castle in Delaware; her sister Lucretia Rodenbergh; his son Peter Van Brugh (first born); children: Elizabeth Donaldson (his wife's child by a former husband); Helena, wife of Tennis De Kay; Catrina, wife of Heniy Renssellaer; Anna, wife of Andrew Gravenroet; Johanes; and Mary, wife of Stephen Richards.16 He was a wheelwright; BC-Families Van Brugh file and his will call him a merchant.17,18,16 Name variation: Johannes Van Brug.5,19 Name variation: Jan Pieterszen Van Brugge.      He settled in Monmouth County, NJ. Nicholas and his wife Geesye Hendricks became members of the Marlboro Dutch Church c. 1731. She was a sister of Daniel Hendricksen (who m. Catherine Van Brunt, daughter of Rutgert Van Brunt
     After their father's death, Nicholas sold his share in his father's estate to his brother Rutgert; and bought land at Tintoon Falls.2 Nicholas Van Brunt and Geesje had also six daughters, the first three (Catherine, Jannetje and Anne) b. New Utrecht, and bp. there; the others (Engeltje, Angenetje, Geesye) bp. Marlboro DRC.2 Nicholas Van Brunt made a will on 12 April 1760. It was proved 1 Feb 1782. He was Nicolaes Van Brunt, of Shrewsbury, Monmouth Co., yeoman. Names wife Geassey; sons Hendrick and Nicholas; son Cornelius' 5 children Gaessey, Joseph, Nicholas, Hendrick and Cornelius; daughter Caty; daughter Jonnety; daughter Anne, wife of Cornelius Wincant; daughter Agness, daughter Gaessey. Executors: son Hendrick, son-in-law Albert Schenck, and friend Tunies Denice. Witnesses: Roelef Schenck, Isaac Vandorn, and Roleff Schenck, minor.1,2,3
