     Thomas came from England to America in 1632, with his wife Isabell and three children, in the ship 'The Lion', and landed in Boston, where he was made a freeman that year. He removed to Milford, CT, as early as January, 1645/6, where he and his wife joined the church. He and his sons afterwards removed to Stratford, Ct., where he died in the year 1660, leaving an estate in Milford and Stratford amounting to 289 Pounds 12s 7d. This name was originally spelled 'Uffoote.1' Thomas (the son) owned land in Wethersfield, Ct., as early as 1641. He left a good estate.
