     Magdalen Uzile was baptized on 3 December 1662 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Philip Corciruu, Pieter Bolou, Marritie Thymens, and Jacomina Parasie; father David d'Usile, mother Maria Kaiser.)^4,5,3 She married Abraham Le Roux.^1,6

     Konight has a possible marriage with Abraham Le Roy of Esopus; BC-Families has a marriage with Abraham La Roux in Staten Island; but Abraham took teh oath of allegiance in 1689 in Kingston, so that is prob. the same person.
     There is also a discrepancy between the birthdate and the baptismal date, and it is possible that (while the child bp. in 1662 is a daughter of David and Maria) the Maria Magdalena, who married Abraham is b. in Mannheim as the daughter of Isaac Gillet and Esther Michee.      Jeremiah Vail was born circa 1618 at England.⁴ He (1) married Catherine. Jeremiah Vail (2) married Mary Folger, daughter of John Folger Jr. and Merebah Gibbs, on 24 May 1660. Jeremiah Vail (3) married Joyce before 4 December 1685.⁵ Jeremiah Vail died in 1687 at Southold, Long Island, NY.

     Jeremiah Vail settled at Salem, MA in 1639, moved to Easthampton, LI in 1655 and then to Southold in 1659. Henry Hobart Vail states that Jeremiah and Anthony Waters worked the farm of Lion Gardiner on Gardiner's Island from 1653-1655. Jeremiah was a blacksmith and after marrying Mary they lived on Peter Paine's home lot.^1,6,3

     Hannah Valentine was born on 22 June 1814 at New Jersey (in 1850 she is listed as b. in NY.)^2,3,4 She married John W May, son of Jacob May and Susannah Straut, on 12 March 1831 at Upper Saddle River, NJ, (DRC.)⁵ Hannah Valentine died on 13 April 1874.² She was buried in Airmont Lutheran Cemetery in Suffern.²

     The 1850 census lists John W May and Hannah at Ramapo Twp, Rockland County, NY, with William (14) and Catherina (2). John is 39, a carpenter; Hannah is 36, all are b. NY. They are on the same page as Jacob May and Richard May. John's daughter Susan (17) and her husband Abraham Wanamaker (23) are living next door as well.³ The 1860 census lists John W May and Hannah at Ramapo Twp, NY, with Catherina (12). John is 48, a wheelrig, both b. NY; Hannah is 46, b. NJ.⁴ She and John had 5 more children, who died young:
