Household of both consist of one male and one female under 10, and one male and one female 24-35. This makes sense for William, but not for Thomas. However a few lines below is another Thomas Jackson (next to John Jeffrey, just as in 1850). Household consists of 2 males and 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-24, 1 male and 1 female 24-35, and 1 female 55-100.

On pg 121, image 19 there is another Thomas Jackson (household 2 males and 2 females under 10, 1 male and 1 female 24-35.)3,4 Thomas J Jackson was in 1850 a boatman.1 The 1850 census lists Thomas J Jackson and Flora at house 309 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ, with children Mary F, Samuel, Susan A, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Phebe, Sarah, Thomas and Fanny (aged between 20 and 3), as well as a John Jackson (23) and James Jackson (25). In the next house (310), but enumerated as same family (330) is John Jackson (28), Susan Jackson (22), and (on the next page) Edward (3) and Francis (1). They are in the same house as John Jeffrey; and next door to William Jackson.1

In addition there are a number of Thompsons (among them a Samuel (35), a Nick Jackson (38), a Henry Jackson (18), and eight Thompson children between 16 (Mary) and 9m (Mortimer).      Epke, his wife and 5 sons emigrated from Amsterdam to New Amsterdam on the ship 'De Trouw' on Feb 13, 1659 and arrived in New Amsterdam by 5 May 1659. Epke was appointed one of the Court of Oyer and Terminer at Bergen (Jersey City) in 1679. He owned land at Hackensack as early as 1681. In 1695, four of his sons, Seba, Cornelius, Hendrick and Dirk, with six other persons bought from the proprietors of East Jersey, a tract of land extending from the Hudson River to Overpeck Creek (about 2 miles in length) and a quarter mile from north to south.5,6,7 Name variation: Epke Egbert Jacobse Banta.4 Name variation: Epke Jacob Banta.8
