     Dirck Straatmaker was born circa 1620 at The Netherlands.1 He married Jannetje in April 1640.1 Dirck Straatmaker died circa 25 February 1643 at Pavonia, NJ, in the aftermath of the massacre of Pavonia/Communipaw.1,2,3

     For an account of the goings-on before the massacre at Pavonia (Communipaw) in 1643, see Winfield's Hudson County History. It is a sorrow story, and ended with the death of Dirck and his wife.
     He also says that Abram Isaacsen Ver Planck and Cornelius Van Tienhoven were brothers-in-law (both married a Vinge girl) and sons-in-law of Jan Jansen Damen (he is the second husband of Adrienne Cuville, mother of the Vinge girls. (p.34.)4,5
