     Julia Vander May and George Vander May immigrated circa 1888 acc. to the obit, but acc to the 1900 census in 1880.^4,3 The 1900 census lists George Vander May and Julia at (#505) at Little Falls Township, Passaic County, NJ, with 10 children: Harry (Jun 1882), John (Sep 1883), Jennie (Feb 1885), Emma (Dec 1886), Julia (Jul 1890), Herman (Dec 1891), Nicholas (Dec 1893), Nellie (Dec 1894), Sadie (Aug 1896) and Samuel (? 1898), all born in NJ.³ The 1910 census lists George Vander May and Julia at Main Road (#95) at Little Falls Township, Passaic County, NJ, with 9 children: John (26), Emma (23), Julia (19), Herman (18), Nicholas (16), Nellie (15), Sadie (13), Samuel (12), and Barney (9), all born in NJ.⁵ The 1920 census lists George Vander May and Julia at East Main Street (#169) at Little Falls Township, Passaic County, NJ, with four children: Herman (28), Sadie (23), Samuel (22), and Barney (19), all born in NJ.⁶
Julia Vander May's obituary appeared on 20 December 1937 in the Herald News (pg. ?)¹ Her parents were Gerrit Fijlstra and Ymkje Veenstra.² Name variation: Aukje Fijlstra ((in Holland.)²) Married name: Julia Vander May.^4,1
