Duncan McKenzie died on 13 May 1897 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was buried in New Kilpatrick Parish Cemetery in Bearsden.

     Duncan was born in Dull, Perthshire, Scotland. He was a blockprinter by trade and died of bronchitis with cardiac debility. He also had apoplexy with left hemiplegia as certified by Joseph Horne, M.B.CMS. The informant was Malcolm McKenzie, son, at 118 Drummond Place, Milngavie, Dumbartonshire, Scotland
At the time of his death Duncan was living at 63 Abington Street, Glasgow.
This was recorded for the 1897 Death Register by William L.Campbell, Assisstant Registrar in the District of Kelvin, Burgh of Glasgow. Reg. 644/9 page 202, entry #605 (found in the New Register House, Edinburgh, Scotland.) According to the cemetery records of the New Kilpatrick Parish Cemetery, the last known residence of David McKenzie was 70 S. Clawes Street, Broughton, Manchester, England. His wife is buried in the same lair as his mother, Catherine Maxwell.¹

     George Mckenzie was born on 5 July 1836 at Toronto, Canada. He married Elizabeth Wood, daughter of Gideon Durphy Wood and Hannah Daley, on 22 April 1857 at Salt Lake City, UT, (Endowment House.) George Mckenzie died on 8 December 1915 at Springville, UT.¹

     George Maxwell McKenzie was born on 31 October 1881 at Milngavie, New Kilpatrick, Dunbarton, Scotland. He married Wilhelmina McAlister Allan, daughter of John Buchanan Allan and Annie Findlay McAlister, on 6 June 1905 at Pawtucket, Providence County, RI. George Maxwell McKenzie died on 13 May 1947 at Upper Darby, PA. He was buried in Moshassuck Cemetery in Central Falls, Allen Plot.

     George enjoyed sports. He was a golfer and enjoyed lawn bowling. He traveled a lot with his job as boss dyer and found places where he could enter various lawn-bowling tournaments.
          George came to the Philadelphia, PA from Scotland with his mother and three brothers when he was seven years of age. Sometime after his next brother was born, the family moved to Pawtucket, Providence, RI. George was schooled in Pawtucket. Later he met and married Wilhelmina McAlister Allan George and his wife had three children, but only two survived. While George and his family resided in Rhode Island, George owned and ran the Rayon Dye Works on the Blackstone River and the GM(GEM) Dye Works. This was where George was situated before and during the first part of the Great Depression.
          George Maxwell Mackenzie, Jr. was the first police commissioner for the City of Central Falls, State of Rhode Island, (1928-1929) and was appointed by Governor Norman S. Case.
          In the summer of 1915, as District Chief of Clan Frazer, George Maxwell Mackenzie, Jr. attended the National Convention of Scottish Clans of America. That year it was held in San Francisco, California. At the age of 33, he was the youngest Clan Chief to attend. His wife, Wilhelmina McAlister Allan Mackenzie and their children, Marian Maxwell Mackenzie and William McAlister Mackenzie left Rhode Island for California six weeks earlier than George. This was so they could visit with Wilhelmina's sisters, Emily and Maybelle in California.
     The trip by train took five days. While on the train his wife, Wilhelmina, met a woman with two children and they struck up a conversation. Wilhelmina said that she was traveling with the children alone and her husband would join her later in California. The other woman said she had her husband with her but he stayed in the sleeping car all day away from her and the children to try and avert any kind of trouble with the other passengers. He was a full-blooded Indian and felt other people would not understand the mixed marriage.
     After the convention was over with, the Mackenzie family returned to Rhode Island by train after spending a short vacation in Mexico.      During the latter part of the Great Depression, George moved his wife and became a representative for the Kali Chemicals in Philadelphia, Pa.      George Maxwell McKenzie was born on 2 December 1850 at Kirkintilloch, Dunbarton, Scotland. He had (1) a relationship with Mary Dunlop (were not married.) George Maxwell McKenzie (2) married Mary Blair Kerr, daughter of Robert Henderson Kerr and Jeannie Ross McMillan, on 30 October 1874 at Maryhill, Lanarkshire, Scotland, (271 Gairbraid Street) (acc. to the banns of the Church of Scotland.) George Maxwell McKenzie died on 1 April 1907 at 190 High Street, Pawtucket, Providence County, RI, at his home (of uraemic coma with secondary chronic interstatial nephritis.)
He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Pawtucket.

     George Maxwell McKenzie was born and lived in Milnagavie, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. He was the third of seven children born to Duncan McKenzie and Catherine Maxwell. Mary was only 15 when she had George's baby. George was just 19 years old. George's parents raised the baby, called John, as their own. Mary later married Hugh Gillies. I don't know if they had any children of their own.
     He arrived in the New York Harbor on 1 June 1887 from Scotland on thesteam-sail vessel, 'CIRCASSIA'.(5) His immigration was processed at what is believed to be Castle Gardens in the lower part of Manhatten, NY before setting up residence in Philadelphia, PA.
     George's trade was listed as dyer in the cotton and rayon mills, according to the 1900 United States Census.(8.)
     Another child, Malcolm was born there on 8 August 1889, before the family moved to Rhode Island soon there after.(6) George, Mary and the boys moved into their first house on Darrow Street in the 'broken-back hill' section of Pawtucket. Their last child, William, was born in 1892 in Pawtucket, RI.(7) Later the family moved into their permanent residence at 190 High Street on the corner of JacksonStreet.
     While living in Scotland George and Mary had Jeannie McMillan McKenzie, born in 1875. She died in 1876 in Scotland. The names of the two infants born and died in Scotland are on grave monuments in both the New Kilpatrick Kirkyard in Bearsden, New Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland and Oak Grove Cemetery, Pawtucket, Providence,RI. Name variation: George M. McKenzie Sr.

     James was different from the other brothers and lived away from them. He maried a woman by the name of Bernice. James died on 3 January 1931. His funeral was conducted from the George M. Mackenzie, Jr. home at 80 Rand Street in Central Falls, RI. Everyone who attended, returned to the Rand Street home from the cemetery for refreshments afterwards.

     John was the son of John and Jeanie McKenzie, of 735 Dumbarton Rd., Partick West, Glasgow. He was born at Milngavie, Glasgow.
     John Maxwell McKenzie MM, Lance Corporal, #303175 'B' Coy. 8th Bn. His regiment was the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He died on Tuesday 20 November 1917, Age 22. John's name is also inscribed on the monument in the middle of the town square in Milngavie, Scotland.      The Cemetery covers an area of 1,015 square metres and is enclosed by a low rubble wall. 274 metres to the West is a Battle Memorial erected by the 42nd Division.
     Rows B, C and D in Plot I contain graves of November 1917 to February 1918, chiefly of the 51st (Highland) and 59th (North Midland) Divisions; but the remainder of the cemetery was made in October 1918, almost entirely by the 42nd Division (who called it the Divisional Cemetery, Trescault).
     There are now over 250, 1914-18 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, a small number are unidentified.      The village of Trescault is approx. 13 kilometres south-west of Cambrai. Ribecourt Road Cemetery lies to the north-east of the village on the south-east side of the road from Cambrai, Marcoing and Ribecourt.
     Ribecourt was taken on the 20th November 1917 by the 6th Division, but at the conclusion of the Battle of Cambrai it remained practically on the British front line; it was lost in March 1918 and recaptured by the 3rd and 42nd (East Lancashire) Divisions on the following 27th September.Trescault remained in British hands until March 1918 and was retaken by the 37th Division on the following 12th September.

     The last known residence of Malcolm was 118 Drummond Place, Milngavie, Dunbarton, Scotland. All known children of his died either in infancy or early childhood. His wife, Rosina, died less than three years after their last child died. Malcolm is buried with his wife and four children in the New Killpatrick churchyard in Bearsden, New Killpatrick, Scotland.²

     Robert Henderson Kerr McKenzie was born in 1897. He died on 24 March 1918 at Pozieres, France. He was buried on 24 March 1918 in Pozieres Memorial in Pozieres, (Grave Reference/Panel Number:Panel 77 and 78) Robert H. K. McKenzie, Private, #303154, who died on Sunday, 24th March 1918. Age 20. 1st/8th Bn., Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

     Robert H. Kerr was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John McKenzie, of 735, Dumbarton Rd., Partick West, Glasgow.
          Pozieres is a village some 6 kilometres north-east of the town of Albert. The memorial encloses Pozieres British Cemetery which is a little south-west of the village on the north side ofthe main road, D929, from Albert to Pozieres.
     The Memorial commemorates over 14,000 casualties of the United Kingdom and 300 of the South African Forces who have no known grave and who fell in France during the Fifth Army area retreat on the Somme from 21 March to 7 August 1918. The Corps and Regiments most largely represented are The Rifle Brigade with over 600 names, The Durham Light Infantry with appr. 600 names, the Machine Gun Corps with over 500, The Manchester Regiment with appr. 500 and The Royal Horse and Royal Field Artillery with over 400 names.
     The Memorial relates to the period of crisis in March and April 1918 when the Fifth Army was driven back by overwhelming numbers across the former Somme battlefields, and to the succeeding period of four months during which there was built up, behind the new front, of the army, which on the 8 August 1918 began the Advance to Victory.
     On the road frontage is an open arcade terminated by small buildings and broken in the middle by the entrance and gates. Along the sides and the back, stone tablets are fixed in the stone rubble walls bearing the names of the dead grouped under their Regiments.
     It should be added that, although the memorial stands in a cemetery of largely Australian graves, it does not bear any Australian names. The Australian soldiers who fell in France and whose graves are not known are commemorated on the National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux. Robert's name is also inscribed in the monument in the town square ofMilngavie, Scotland. (2.)

     Arthur Clarence Joseph McKeon was born on 3 February 1892 at Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ, (NJ Birth and Baptisms has the date as 28 Feb 1892.)^2,1 He married Irene Elizabeth Peters, daughter of John Henry Peters and Catherine Little, on 6 June 1919 at New York City (Alternate place: Paramus, NJ, #15408. They had met at Irene's sweet sixteen party on June 25, 1916.)^3,4 Arthur Clarence Joseph McKeon died in July 1931 at Bergen Pines Hospital, Paramus, NJ, of tuberculosis after three monhts illness.^1,5 He was buried on 13 July 1931 in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.^1,6

     He was bapt. 24 Mar 1892 at the Church of Our Lady of Grace (sponsors: Harry Roberts and Ellen Obrien), and was confirmed there on 1 Nov 1905 (sponsor Joseph F. Brandt.)^7,8
     He was a First World War Veteran. In 1918 he joined the US Army Signal Corps, and was mustered out in January of 1919.¹ Arthur Clarence Joseph McKeon was between 1918 and 1928 a policeman for the Hoboken Police Department. After that he was an electrician for the brotherhood of electrical workers.¹ The 1930 census lists Arthur Mckeon and Irene at Bergenfield, Bergen County, NJ, with their children Leroy and Raymond.⁹
     In the 1920 census I found my mother living in Hoboken with her mother and two brothers, George and Thomas. My mother was listed as single. I couldn't find my father in the 1920 census.¹
     Reasons to believe Arthur and Irene eloped:
Arthur was released from the army in January of 1919
In the 1920 census Irene was living with her mother and two brothers six months after her marriage and Arthur is not found in the 1920 census. I will continue to look for Arthur. He may have re-inlisted but I cannot prove it. More research is needed.¹⁰ Name variation: Arthur Mckeon.¹

     Ellen Mckeon was born in 1886 at New York City.¹ She died in 1890 at New York City (hit by a car.)¹ She was buried in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside.¹

     The 1880 census listed Emma Roberts in James and Mary Malone's household at New York City.^2,3 The 1900 census lists Emma Roberts at New York City, with her children William, Thomas, Emogene and Gracie, and her brother Alfred Malone.^4,5 Emma Mckeon was Roman Catholic.¹ Married name: Roberts.

     Frank James McKeon was born in May 1894 at Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ.¹ He died on 24 May 1933 at Hoboken, NJ.¹ He was buried in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.²

     Harry McKeon was born circa 1839 at Ireland (or England.)¹ He married Mary Moran circa 1855 at New York City.² Harry McKeon died circa 1860 at USA.¹

     The only time I saw Harry Mckeon's name was on the baptism record of James Mckeon. After that (about 1860), he was not found in any census or directory. Nine years later his wife Mary Moran is found in the police census of 1890 married to James Malone with three more children. I also found Mary Moran Malone in the 1880 census with James Malone and six children.¹

     Henry James Mckeon was born on 17 December 1884 at Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ.^1,2 He was baptized on 28 December 1884 at Jersey City, NJ, (St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church) (Sponsors: George Malone (half brother of James Mckeon his father) and Catherine Mcmannis.)^1,3 He died on 16 August 1963 at Los Angeles, CA.^4,1 He was buried on 29 August 1963 in Queen Of Heaven in Los Angeles.¹

     When Harry's father died in 1915 all his siblings were living at home in Hoboken. The siblings all helped support their mother who had no working skills. Harry was always unemployed. The family sent him out of the home because he wouldn't get a job to support the family or himself. He aspired to be an actor. He went to Philadelphia, PA. He adopted a son and never married. At age 57 he applied for Social Security in Philadelphia, PA. He stated on the social Security that he was unemployed. He moved to California and died there in Aug 18 1963. Harry was in Los Angeles County General Hospital with a broken leg and died there. No one claimed the body so the town buried him for free. (I do not know where his son was at this time). The witness who identified him at his death was Russell Banks, it is not known who he is (Nothing is known about how Russel Banks and Harry James Mckeon knew each other. He could have been just the person who discovered him dead.) Harry is buried in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights California. I added his name to findagrave.com and gave him. flowers.
In 1945 he inherited money from his uncle Alfred Malone, but no one knew where he was. It is not known if he collected the inheritance. Not much is known about Harry. His sister May was in touch with him according to a letter she wrote to Ruth Taylor (Raymond McKeon Taylor's wife.)¹

     James McKeon was born on 17 October 1859 at New York City.¹ He was baptized on 23 October 1859 at New York City (St. Joseph Church.)² He married Hannah Coughlin, daughter of John Patrick Coughlin and Ellen Leeds, circa December 1883 at New York City.¹ James McKeon died on 28 June 1915 at Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ, of cirrhosis of the liver. He may have inhaled carbontetricloride, that was used at work to clean boilers.^1,3,4 He was buried on 30 June 1915 in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.^5,1

     The family moved from Jersey City to NYC between 1884 and 1886. They moved to Hoboken around 1892, and in 1920 Hannah is living in Brooklyn with her three youngets children.^1,6 On Monday June 28, 1915 James J. Mckeon, Beloved Husband of Hannah Mckeon, of 816 Willow Ave, Hoboken died at age 55. Church service at our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Hoboken on Thursday. Burial at holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ.³
     James McKeon was born to Mary Moran and Harry McKeon in 1859. He was the third child, He had an older sister Emma Mckeon & a brother Thomas McKeon. I have no idea what happened to Harry Mc Keon after James was born. Seven years passed before I found Mary Moran with her second husband James Malone in the 1880 census with three more children.
James married Hannah Coughlin in 1883. Their first child was born in Jersey City NJ 1884. His name was Harry, named after James' father Henry McKeon. James and Hannah moved to NYC where Walter and Ellen (named after her mother) were born.
In 1890 Ellen (child 5 years old) was hit by a car and died. Hannah gave birth to another child in the same year and named him Walter. Hannah and James moved to Hoboken NJ around 1892.
James was a laborer for the Savanah Lines, a shipping company. He worked his way up to office clerk.
James's and Hannah had 7 children. After Hannah's Father (John Coughlin) died in 1892 Ellen Coughlin came to live with them. Ellen died in 1914 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery with her husband and all their children. James died in 1915. Hanna died in 1948. They are buried in Holy Name cemetery in Jersey City, NJ with their son Frank who died of Hodgkins in 1933. (There is no stone on their grave.)⁷

     Mae McKeon was born on 11 October 1903 at Hoboken, NJ.¹ She married Carl Duff circa 1927 at New Jersey.¹ Mae McKeon died on 20 April 1980 at Fort Lauderdale, FL.¹ She was buried in Fort Lauderdale.¹

     They moved to Malden, MA abt 1940 and worked with Carl and his brothers in a haberdashery store. Hanna Coughlin McKeon moved up to Malden and May cared for her until Hanna died in 1948. May and Carl retired to Fort Lauderdale and opened a haberdashery store there. Carl Duff died abt 1970 in Florida and May died in 1980.¹ Married name: Duff.

     Walter Edward McKeon was born on 3 April 1890 at New York City.² He married Mathilda Margaret De Normand on 3 June 1917 at Bronx, NY.² Walter Edward McKeon died on 16 October 1967 at New York City.^3,2 He was buried on 19 October 1967 in Long Island National Cemetery.²

     He was a Sergeant in the Signal Corps in WW1.² Walter Edward McKeon was an electrical engeneer for Bell Telephone Co. He retired in 1955.² In May 1967 Walter was crossing a downtown street in NYC and was hit by a taxi cab. He was hospitalized and died 5 months later on Oct. 16 1967.^4,5

     Vernon C McLean was a private in the 84th Trans. Corp during WWI. When he registered for the draft on 5 Jun 1917, he was a machinist on the 'Neptune,' a Great Lakes steamer. He was living in Green Bay, WI. He had a wife and a helpless mother.^1,4,2 The 1930 census lists Vernon C McLean and Martha at 34 Garden Street at Little Ferry Borough, NJ, with his sister-in-law Anna McDowell (36, b. NJ, married at 18) and her son Edmund McDowell (17, b. NJ), and his mother-in-law Pauline Klein (62, widowed, b. Germany, marr at 20.)³ The 1940 census lists Vernon C McLean and Martha at 9 Overpeck Avenue at Ridgefield Park, NJ, with his mother-in-law Pauline Klein (71, widowed, b. Germany), brother-in-law Henry Klein (48, widowed, b. NJ), his nephew Henry Klein (19, b. NJ) and his niece Dorothy (16, b. NJ). Vernon and his wife are listed as MacLean.⁶
     The headstone application was signed on 20 Dec 1944 by Martha McLean, who was living at 180 Brinkerhoff Ave, Ridgefield Park.⁴ Name variation: Vernon Clement McLean.²
