Herck Sybouts1

M, b. 28 January 1620, d. between 1681 and 1684
Herck Sybouts was from Langendyck when he married.2,3,4 He was baptized on 28 January 1620 at Langedijk, West Friesland, The Netherlands, (DRC.)5 He married Wyntjie Theunis, daughter of Theunis Thomaszen and Belitje Jacobus, on 16 November 1642 at New York City (DRC) (He was Henricus Sibelszen, jm from Langendyck; she Marritje Theunis, jd from Naerden.)2,3,4,6 Herck Sybouts died between 1681 and 1684.2

Family

Wyntjie Theunis b. 23 Jul 1628, d. b 18 Jul 1699
Children
Herck Sybouts lived in 1654 at Long Island, NY, next to Abraham Rycker (Lent), at present site of LaGuardia Airport.2 He was a ship's carpenter. He purchased at patent at Newtown.2
A note states: "Sibout Claessen was no doubt related (cousin?) to Harck Siboutsen [Krankhyte] from Langedyk on the river Kuinre, in the district of Zevenwolden, or Seven Forests." The relation may be possible (Langedijk and Hoorn are both in West Frisia in the Province of North Holland), but there is no river Kuinre; the place Kuinre is in Overijssel, and Zevenwolden in Friesland. This place designation comes from "Revised History of Harlem," by James Riker. There is however also a small village "Langedijke" in Friesland itself, which was located within the borders of Zevenwolden.
BC-Families has a prob. baptism in 1620 in Langedijk, and Herck's father as Sybe Sybes; Konight has Sybout's parents as Claes Syboutsen and Annitje Hendricks.7,5,8
The Krankhuyt File had the surname of all children listed as Siboutszen (Krankhuyt). The father is Herck Sybouts (Herck, son of Sybout), and the children should really be Hercksen, not Siboutszen. The same file stated that he came from Lanquedoc (France), but that is no doubt a misinterpretation of Langedijk.7,9 Name variation: Harck Krankhuyt.2
