Marselis File has Hessel Marselis (m. (1) Lysbeth Claes; and (2) Magd. Bruyn), son of Pieter Van Marselis and Elizabeth. A Hessel Pieterse, son of Pieter Hessels and Lysbeth Gerrits, was bp. 1668 in NYC; he is jm from Bergen at his marriage. Considering that Hessel is not a name appearing in the Marselis Family, and BC-Families Merselis File only has him as a poss. son (with the two marriages), but does not have more info; and the marriage with Magdalena Bruyn was neither in Bergen, nor in NYDC. My feeling is that the connection with Marselis is wrong.12,13,6,14,15
