Meindert Griek was a ship's rigger. On the ship manifests he is described as a birdman.3,4,5 He immigrated in 1916 to 130 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ. He had several trips to the US before that, as a birdman for the company L Ruhr, 238 Grand Street, NYC. They always returned to the Netherlands on the same boat they came on. His contact in Holland is his wife M. Griek in Rotterdam in 1915, and his contact in 1916 is his wife P. Mastenbroek at 130 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken, NJ. In 1916 he sailed from London.4,5,6,7 The 1920 census lists Meindert Griek and Pietertje at 729 Park Ave (5th Ward) at Hoboken, Hudson County, NJ, with six children: Nellie (10), Paul (9), Charles (5), Meindert (4 + 11 mo), all born in Holland, and Abraham (1 + 5 mo) and Alice (3 + 2 mo) born in NJ.3 His parents were Tjalling Griek and Pietertje Groot.1 Name variation: M. Griek.8

Jennie A Griffin was born in 1843 at New Hamburg, NY.2,3 She (1) married John S Vanderbeck, son of Isaac Vanderbeck and Sarah A Bogert.2 Jennie A Griffin (2) married George H Bailey in 1897.4 Jennie A Griffin died on 14 January 1925.

The 1870 census lists John S Vanderbeck and Jennie A at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ, with two children: Milton J. (2, b. NY) and Guilliam B. (10 mo, b. NJ); and Sarah A Vanderbeck (50, b. NJ). John is 30, b. NJ; Jennie is 27, b. NY.2 The 1875 census lists Jennie A Griffin at Clinton, Dutchess County, NY, with two children: Milton (7, b. Dutchess County, NY) and Gileon (5, b. Dutchess County, NY). Jennie is 32, b. Ulster
County, NY. They are next door to Milton Griffin and his family.5 The 1900 census lists George H Bailey and Jennie A at 53 Juniper Street at Flushing, Queens County, NY, with his stepson Gilliam B. Vanderbeck (30, b. NJ) and his wife Lillian B (27, b. NY.)4
Jennie A Bailey, John S Vanderbeck, Guilliam B Vanderbeck and Milton Vanderbeck are buried in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappinger Falls, Dutchess County, NY. They are inscribed on one side of the monument of Milton D. Griffin (1849-1908) and family. It makes it likely that Jennie is a daughter of Milton; but no relation are listed at Find-A-Grave.6,7 Married name: Vanderbeck. Married name: Bailey.
