NY), Maggie (3, b. NY), and J.E. (1, b. NY). Clarissa was 28, b. NY; Louis was 38, b. Germany, a chairmaker.6 The 1870 census lists Louis Graff and Catherine at Newstead, Erie County, NY, with eight children all b. NY, five presumably from the first marriage (Sarah, 19; Lewis, 17; Daniel, 16; Margaret, 14, and John, 12), and three from the second marriage (Mary, 7; Catherine, 5; and Margaret, 3). Lewis is 48, b. Bavaria, farmer; Catherineis 29, b. Darmstadt.7 The 1900 census lists Louis Graff and Catherine at Newstead, NY, with Mary (36, b. Sep 1863, NY), Herman (21, b. May 1879, NY), Lillian (23, b. Aug 1876, NY), and William A (16, b. Dec 1883, NY).

She was disowned by her Scotch family and never again had any contact with them after marrying the Irish Catholic Thomas Rogers, according to her granddaughter, Elizabeth Callanan.1 The 1880 census lists Thomas Rogers and Eliza A at 251 85th St at New York City, with their children Emma, Ella, Lillie, Joseph, Thomas and Matilda.1,3 The 1900 census lists Thomas Rogers and Eliza A at 238 East 82nd St at New York City, with their children Ella, Joseph, Thomas C, Fulda and George, and Lillian G. (daughter, Aug 1891, 8, b. NY). Should this be granddaughter?4 Married name: Rogers.

     Robert Graham was born in 1767. He married Ann Wilkin, daughter of John Wilkin and Elizabeth Crawford.1 Robert Graham died on 22 September 1799.2

     He was the founder of the Graham Church in Crawford.2 He made a will on 9 September 1799. It was proved in Goshen on 26 Sep 1799. It mentions his wife Ann; brother-in-law Jason Wilken; Mary, wife of Nicholas Hardenburgh of Shawangunk, Ulster County; John B., son of Jason Wilken; Ann, daughter of Matthew Gillespy, dec'd; Gives the farm to the Associate Reformed Church, now John McJimsey, pastor, for the use of a parsonage; also money; present trustees: Samuel Gillespie, Esq., Jason Wilken, and self. Exec. Jason Wilken and David Galnation. Witnesses: William Whitsit, Daniel Wilken, James D. Galation.1

Maple Ave, Park Ridge, Bergen County, NJ.2 She was cremated on 22 July 1950 at NY and NJ Crematory, North Bergen, NJ. The ashes were buried at Westwood Cemetery (Lot W1/2 Block 40), Westwood, NJ.2

     Caroline at the time of her death was president of the Guild of St Pauls Episcopal Church, Montvale. She was Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Park Ridge Fire Department, and was the first president of this organization, founded by her father, George Granger. She was also active in the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, particularly during WW II, when a group of women would often gather to make bandages and put together toiletry packages for men serving overseas. Married name: Turse.
