     Cornelius Huyler was born in 1817.1,2 He married Hetty Van Riper on 31 October 1840 at Passaic, NJ.3,4,5,6 Cornelius Huyler died on 12 January 1901 at Mamaroneck, NY.1,2,7 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack, Plot 421-A.1,2

NJ: Fletcher (17, clerk), Cornelius (14, apprentice coach trimmer), Sarah (10), Emma (12), Lydia (8mo). Cornelius is 42, b. NJ, a coach trimmer; Letty is 39, b. NJ.8 Cornelius Huyler was a veteran of the Civil War, he served in Co. 22 NJ Infantry.1,2,6 The 1880 census lists Cornelius Huyler and Lotte at New York City (ED 238), with two children, both b. NJ: Lydia (19) and William (14). Cornelius is a laborer, 63, b. NJ, Lotte 58, b. NJ.5
     A ? Huyler (Mar 1817, b. NJ) with wife Clara (Oct 1823, b. NJ) and daughter Mary (Jan 1873, b. NY) is listed in the 1900 census in Mamaroneck. They were married 40 years, she had six children, 5 were living. He is on the previous page.9
     In 1906 son Fletcher died in NYC. Parents listed as Cornelius Huyler and Aletta van Riper. He was b. 1843 in Passaic, NJ, and an engineer; he is buried in NY Cemetery.10
     Son William died in NYC in 1937. Parents listed as Cornelius Huyler and Sarah vanrifer. He was 71, b. 1866, a machinist, widowed, wife was Elizabeth.11
     Son Cornelius married Jane van Wettering on 21 Jun 1871 in New Barbadoes. Her father is listed as Fuce van Wetteringg. In 1880 they are living in New Barbadoes, he is 35, b. NJ, no occupation; she is 27, b. NJ. parents b. Holland, dressmaker. They have two children, both b. NJ: William (6) and Emma (3.)12,13
