     Samantha Clark was born circa 1813 at New York.1 She married George Phillips, son of Daniel P Phillips and Hannah Osborn.1 Samantha Clark died on 8 February 1892.1 She was buried in Mt. Rest Cemetery in Stony Point.1

George is 51, Samantha 43.2 The 1860 census lists George Phillips and Samantha at Haverstraw, NY, with Robert (23, boatman, boatman), Harrison (21), Harriet (18), Harvey Weiant (21, boatman), Charlotte Weiant (15), and Harrison Martin (2). George is 55, mason; Samantha is 46.2
     George and Samantha were in Haverstraw in all census from 1840 through 1860. In 1870 they were in Stony Point, and Samantha was there alone in 1880.3 Her father was J.L. Clark or Knapp.1 Name variation: Samantha Knapp (in some places, but her deathcertificate says Clark.)3 Married name: Phillips.
