In 1899 he took over the business and continued until the Great Fire in Paterson in 1902. He then took a position in the Hamilton Trust Company.
Nehemiah served as the organist for the Market Street, Main Street and Grace Methodist Churches. He had two other avocations, one of which was manufacturing wines and the other was coin collecting. He possessed several rare coins that were unique in this country.6
