The 1900 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E at Red Neck Ave at Little Ferry (Lodi Township), NJ, with their children Alfred, Walter and Dolly; and two German boarders: Herman Sachs (Apr 1862, farmer) and Robert Hasser (Jun 1871, farm laborer.)3 The 1905 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E, with children Alfred, Walter, Isabel and Charles. Albert's dob is now Feb 1893; Charles' May 1862, and Louise's Oct 1866. Louise and the children are on the next page. Enumerated before them is William Kiel with his wife and children.6 Charles Kiel was a farmer in 1900; a gardener in 1920. He was one of the founding officers of the Borough of Little Ferry in 1894, and was still an officer in 1899.3,7,8 The 1920 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E at 876 Paterson Ave at East Rutherford, NJ, with their children Alfred A, Walter J and Isabel A.7
