     Grietje Keteltas was baptized on 17 February 1669 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Mr. Evert Pieterszen Keteltas; father Arent Evertszen Keteltas, mother Susanna de Boog.)^1,2 She (1) married Johannes De Nys, son of Pieter De Nys and Geesie Idens, on 4 March 1693 at New York City (DRC.)^3,4 (Banns on 24 February 1693. He was Johannes Nys, jm from N. Yorck; she Margrietie Kateltas, jd from N. Yorck, both living here.)⁵

     Grietje Keteltas and Johannes had three children bp. NYDC:
1. Susanna (bp. 9 Apr 1693; parents Johannes Nys and Margrietie Keteltas; sp. Willem Hellaken and Cornelia Keteltas)
2. Pieter (bp. 20 Feb 1695; parents Johannes Nys and Margreta Keteltas; sp. Pieter Keteltas and Geesje Nys)
3. Geesje (bp. 2 Jun 1700; parents Johannes Nys and Grietje Keteltas; sp. Jan Manshaar, Pieter Rykman, and Susanna Nys wife of Jan Manshaar).²
     Grietje Keteltas, daughter of Arent, had a prob. second marriage listed with Paulus Mauritz in 1706; but that is most likely Grietje Keteltas, daughter of Jan, as Grietje's brother Abraham is sponsor at the baptism of son Jacob. Married name: De Nys. Name variation: Margrietie Kateltas.⁵ Married name: Nys.

Thomas Koeck and Harmentie; father Jan Evertszen Keteltas, mother Aeltie Schepmoes.)¹ She married Paulus Maurits on 12 April 1706 at New York City (DRC.)^2,3 (Paulus Maurits and Margareta Keteltas; reg. On 8 April 1706.)³

     Grietje Keteltas had at least one son with Paulus: Jacob (bp. 28 Feb 1707, NYDC, parents Pouwelus Mouritz and Margrietje Keteltas, sponsors Abraham Keteltas and Jannetje Mouritz).⁴

     Johannes Keteltas was baptized on 25 February 1670 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Evert Keteltas and Sara Schepmoes; father Jan Evertszen Keteltas, mother Aeltie Jans Schepmoes.)^1,2

     Pieter Keteltas was baptized on 27 May 1671 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Willem Thomaszen Koeck and Moer Pieters; father Jan Evertszen Keteltas, mother Aeltie Jans Schepmoes.)^1,2

     Catherine Kettel was baptized on 10 February 1734 at Wawarsing, Ulster County, NY.¹ She married Pieter Kuykendall, son of Pieter Kuykendall and Femmetje Decker.¹

     Margaret B Keyes was born circa 1826 at New Jersey.¹ She married James Johnson Goodenough, son of Abraham Goodenough and Mary Brown.¹ Margaret B Keyes died on 10 November 1897 at Mt. Laurel, Burlington County, NJ.¹

     Frederick Kidder was born circa 1815 (63 at death.)² He died on 30 July 1878 at Ridgewood Twp, NJ.^3,2

     The 1860 census lists Frederick Kidder at New York City (ward 16), with Mary Kidder (30, b. NY), Mary Kidder (10, b. NY) and William (1, b. NY); and two servants. Frederick is 44, b. NY, manufacturer.⁴

     The death of a possible brother Edward G. Kidder (11 Jan 1883 in NYC) lists the parents as William Kidder and Charlotte Adams, both b. MA. Find-A-Grave has Charlotte Adams Kidder as the mother of Henrietta Brinsmaid, and the Hachensack Republican noted in Henrietta's obituary that she descended from Samuel Adams. In the 1880 census Henry lists his parents as b. MA.^5,6

     Henrietta Adams Kidder was born in 1818 (75 or 78 at death.)^2,3,4 She married Sedgewick S. Brinsmaid (He died Dec 1884 in Ridgewood at age 69.)^1,5 She died on 28 March 1894 at Ridgewood, NJ, (NJ Death Index has year as 1893.)^1,6,4 She was buried in Valleau Cemetery in Ridgewood, with her husband Sedgewick.⁷

     Henrietta Adams Kidder's obituary appeared on 5 April 1894 in the Hackensack Republican (pg. 2, col. 2; and in the Bergen Index on 29 Mar 1894. Her husband is listed in the Bergen Index as Hedgewick Brinsmaid, her brother Frederick is listed in the Hackensack Republican.)^1,6 Married name: Brinsmaid.⁶

     Henry A Kidder was born in 1825 at New York.¹ He died on 8 February 1890 at Ridgewood, NJ, (NJ Death Index has year as 1889.)^2,3

     Louisa Kidder was born on 10 June 1810 at New Ipswich, NH.¹ She married Ephraim Blodgett, son of Josiah Blodgett and Eunice Barlow, on 24 May 1837.¹ Louisa Kidder died on 14 November 1886 at Waterford, NH.¹ She was buried in Lower Waterford Cemetery.¹

     John Kieffer was born on 16 July 1835.¹ He married Sarah Jane Burhans, daughter of Edward Burhans and Grietje Newkirk Van Keuren, on 26 December 1856.¹

     Alfred A Kiel was born on 15 February 1893 at Lodi, NJ, (the 1900 census has his birth as Feb 1886.)^3,2,4,1,5

     He registered for the draft in Jun 1917 in East Rutherford. His birthday is 15 Feb 1893, he is a police officer, and he lives at 876 Paterson Ave, East Rutherford, NJ. He was born in Little Ferry.⁵ Alfred A Kiel was a municipal policeman.      Charles Kiel was born on 23 April 1863 at Lodi, NJ.^2,1,3 He married Louisa Edler on 27 April 1892 at Newark, Essex County, NJ.^4,3,5

     The 1900 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E at Red Neck Ave at Little Ferry (Lodi Township), NJ, with their children Alfred, Walter and Dolly; and two German boarders: Herman Sachs (Apr 1862, farmer) and Robert Hasser (Jun 1871, farm laborer.)³ The 1905 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E, with children Alfred, Walter, Isabel and Charles. Albert's dob is now Feb 1893; Charles' May 1862, and Louise's Oct 1866. Louise and the children are on the next page. Enumerated before them is William Kiel with his wife and children.⁶ Charles Kiel was a farmer in 1900; a gardener in 1920. He was one of the founding officers of the Borough of Little Ferry in 1894, and was still an officer in 1899.^3,7,8 The 1920 census lists Charles Kiel and Louise E at 876 Paterson Ave at East Rutherford, NJ, with their children Alfred A, Walter J and Isabel A.⁷
     His father was born in Bayern, Germany; his mother in Michigan, acc. to the 1920 census, but that is in error.⁷ Name variation: Charles V Kiel.⁹
