     Frederick attended Seward Institute, graduated from Union College and studied medicine at Bellevue and NY Homeopathic College. He started a practice in Middletown but because of poor health went to New Mexico in 1876 and returned in 1882. He settled in Goshen, where he was in general practice until 1899 when he established Interpines. Interpines was a sanatorium for the cure of mental and nervous diseases.1
     His first wife Ella came from Florida, NY, and his second wife Matie was from Plainfield, NJ; his son Edwin ran a ranch in New Mexico; and son Frederick was an MD, graduating from NY Medical College; he worked with his father at Interpines Clinic.

     Samuel Swezy Seward M.D. was born on 5 December 1768 at Hardyston, Sussex County, NJ. He married Mary Jennings in 1795. Samuel Swezy Seward M.D. died in 1849.
