     McIntire has place of birth as Scofield, MI; this is not found on present day maps, but there is a Scofield Road in Exeter, MI. Exeter and Boyne City are about four hours apart. While he later lived in Boyne City, it seems likely he was born near Exeter.2,7,3 Peter Francis McIntire was in 1880 a farmer at Exeter, Monroe County, MI.8 Peter Francis McIntire lived at Boyne City, MI.7 The 1900 census lists Peter Francis McIntire and Adeline at Evangeline (Boyne City Village), Charlevoix County, MI, with Jennie C McIntire. He was a hardware merchant.5 Peter Francis McIntire was a large real estate owner and a director of the First National Bank. He was a member of the school board for many years at Boyne City, MI.6 The 1910 census lists Peter Francis McIntire and Adeline at Boyne, Charlevoix County, MI, with Jennie C McIntire. He was living on his own income.9 Peter Francis McIntire was a member of the Methopdist-Episcopal Church and one of its largest supporters.6
