Gerrit Gerrits Jr.1

M, b. 1658, d. 9 October 1732
FatherGerrit Gerritsen Van Wagoner2 d. 6 Apr 1703
MotherAnnatje Hermanse2 d. 7 Sep 1696
Gerrit Gerrits Jr. was born in 1658 at Wageningen, The Netherlands.3,4 He married Neesje Pieterse, daughter of Pieter Van Marselis and Elizabeth, on 11 May 1681 at Bergen, NJ, (DRC.)5,3,6,7 (Banns on 24 April 1681. He was Gerrit Gerrits, Jr., ym, from Wageninge in Gelderland; she Niesje Pieters, yd, from Beest in Gelderland. Received certificate to New York, May 11.)7 Gerrit Gerrits Jr. died on 9 October 1732 at Bergen, NJ.8,9 He was buried on 11 October 1732, as "Gerrit Gerritsen van Waagening."9

Family

Neesje Pieterse b. c 1659, d. 9 Oct 1732
Children
Gerrit Gerrits Jr. was in 1681 appointed Associate Justice of Court of Bergen. He also served as a Lieutenant in Gerbrand Claesen's Company in 1692.3 Gerrit Gerrits Jr. lived at Pembrepock.3
NOTE: There seems to be quite a bit of confusion about the death dates. BC-Families has Gerrit Jr. date as 1703, but then also states that he and his wife convey land in 1719. The Bergen DRC Burials (HSYB) has the 1703 burial as Gerrit Gerritsen, widower of Annetje Hermans, so that is clearly the father. Gerrit was prob. buried in 1732 as Gerrit Gerritsen Van Waagening, but BC-Families assigns that date to his wife.10,11 Name variation: Gerrit Gerritson Van Wagonen.3 Name variation: Gerrit Van Wagoner.3

Names neighbor Cornelia Low; Johanes Ten Eyck, Maria Ten Eyck, Hendrick and Eva Ten Eyck, children of eldest daughter Petronella, but her husband Hendrick Ten Eyck is to have no share thereof; Johana and Elizabeth, children of my second daughter Sophia [Teller], reserving to my daughter Sophia if she comes back from Jamaica the rents of the same during her life; Johana Jamieson, my third daughter Johana Jamieson and my son-in-law David Jamieson; son-in-law Lancaster Symes, the present husband of my daughter Catharine Symes; the rest of my estate is to be divided into three parts: One part to the four children of my daughter Petronella, one to my daughter Johana Jamieson, and one to my daughter Catharine. My son-in-law David Jamieson to be executor. has power to sell houses in Amsterdam in Holland. I desire that my daughter Petronella be not dissatisfied, for my gift is not made through any disrespect to her but because her husband, who deserves so little at her hands, should reap no benefit.
