Hendrick Obee

Hendrick Obee (1) married Aeltje Claes.1 Hendrick Obee (2) married Marritie Jans on 13 January 1692.2,3 (Banns on 26 December 1691. He was wid.of Keltie Claes; she wid. of Willem Janszen, both living here.)3

Family 1

Aeltje Claes d. b 1692
Children

Family 2

Marritie Jans
Hendrick Obee and his wife Aeltje Claes were on the list of members of the NYDRC in 1686.4
Konight has a number notes on possible children of Hendrick Obee and Marritie Jans, but without any identifyable sources. Maria (marr. Gerrit Duycink); Elizabeth Obeel or Abeel (marr. Evert Banker); Johannes Obeel (marr. Cath Schuyler); and Maryken or Magdaletie Abeel (marr. Gerrit Beekman). See Gerrit Duyckinck, Evert Bancker and Gerardus Beekman.1
It is unclear where the name of Hendrick Hendrickszen's wife comes from, the mother is not named at the baptisms of the children. It is possible that that he is the same as Hendrick Hendricksen Obee; Obe has a daughter Lysbeth, who has children, starting 1677, which would fit with the birthdate.
Hendrick Obe was also called Hendrick Tamboer; a Hendrick Hendricksen, drummer, is mentioned twice in 1654 and 1655 (see below; of course there is also a Hendrick Hendricksen, tailor, in 1656 and 1658 (HSYB 1900 p.162, 164)5
Three Hendrick Hendricksens are listed in the list of NYDC members 1649-1659: Hendrick Hendrickszen Obe, Tamboer (p.499), Hendrick Hendrickszen and Geertruyd Barents, his wife (p.501), and Hendrick Hendrickszen van Middelborg (p.504). This explains Geertruid Barents; but it would seem to indicate that Hendrick Obe and Hendriks Hendricks are not the same, and that neither is the same as Hendrick Hendricksen of Middelburgh.6,7 Name variation: Hendrick Hendricksen Obee.2 Name variation: Hendrick Tamboer (maybe.)8

Lysbeth Obee, who has children starting 1672, could possibly be Lysbeth Hendricks. This would mean Hendrick Obe was married three times.
