     There seems to be disagreement about the marriage date; Konight has 1 Sep 1782 (Aquackanonck 3520, NJ license 31 Aug 1782); BC-Families has 16 Aug 1787 in Tappan or 4 Oct 1790 in Bergen County.
     While both BC-Families and Desc. Jan G. Koninck agree on the marriages with Steven Van Orden and David Demarest, Konight does not have the marriage with the Rev. Cornelius Cosine, who died in 1786. This makes the 1782 date very questionable. A lot of this plays in Conewago County, PA. However it is possible that Mary Koning and Mary King are not the same person
     Konight has a son of David S. Demarest and Maria King: Samuel D. Demarest, b. 22 Feb 1786; d. 10 Nov 1815. This is not in BC-Families under the children of David, but in his own entry he is listed as the son of David and Maria King. Maria would have been 50 yrs old at his birth!
     To me seems likely that Samuel was the son of the 2nd marriage of David Demarest, and that the marriage date in 1787, but I have left it the way the Konight FGS presents the data.^5,12,13,14 Name variation: Maria King.¹⁵ Married name: Van Orden. Married name: Cosine. Married name: Demarest.
