     David Shorey was born on 4 October 1801 at Burlington, Penobscot County, ME.¹ He (1) married Saloma S Smith.^1,2 David Shorey (2) married Hannah W Penhallow.³ David Shorey (3) married Olive Preble on 5 July 1863.³ He died on 19 June 1869 at Passadumkeag, ME, at age 68 yrs, 8 mos, 28 ds., when a team of oxen fell on him near Passadumkeag Stream.^1,3 He and Saloma S Smith were buried in Mount Repose Cemetery in Burlington.^1,4

     The 1850 census lists David Shorey at Burlington, ME, with his children Maria, Hannah, Thomas, Robert, Mary, Malinda and Emily (Maria (23), Hannah (20), Thomas (17), Robert L. (12), Mary E. (10), Malonda (14), Emily (7.)^1,5) David Shorey and Hannah had two more children: Luthen and Mary.³ The 1860 census lists David Shorey and Hannah W at Burlington, Penobscot County, ME, with their children Charles, Isaac, Rachel and Moses. A Nathaniel Treadwell (13, b. Maine), and Robert Shorey (21, b. Maine) are also listed. Thomas Shorey, with wife Sarah and three children lived next door.⁶ The children were all born in Burlington, ME.¹ He was elected to become a visible member of the Congregational Church at Passadumkeag 12 July 1827. He was suspended without delay on 23 July 1834.³ David Shorey served as a private in the Aroostook War 20 Feb 1839 - 24 Apr 1839 under Capt Maxim of Bangor. In this war, the boundary between Mew Brunswick and Maine was disputed.³

George Redman and Addie Emerson.)¹ Malinda S Shorey died on 5 May 1885 at Presque Isle, Aroostook County, ME, age 49 yrs.¹ She was buried in Fairmont Cemetery in Presque Isle.¹

     George Short was born in 1791 at Kirknewton, Northumberland, England.^1,2,3 He married Margaret Tait, daughter of John Tait and Mary.^3,1,2 George Short died on 21 September 1875 at Swinton, Berwickshire, Scotland, His son Leonard registered the death.^4,2,1 He was buried in Norham Cemetery in Norham.³

     The 1851 census lists George Short and Margaret at Norham, Northumberland, England, with their children John, William and Margaret. He is 59, a farmer of 13 acres, b in Kirk Newton; wife Margaret, age 59, b in Tweedmouth; son John age 23 road laborer, son William age 26, tailor; Margaret age 16, children all born in Norham. The address was either Birchall or Brickall.⁵ The 1861 census lists George Short and Margaret, with their granddaughter Isabella (b. Ford?). He is 67, turnpike laborer, b Newton; Margaret, wife age 68 b Tweedmouth.⁶ George Short was a road contractor.⁴ The 1871 census lists George Short and Margaret at Swinton, Northumberland, England.⁷
