     Lillie Britten was born in 1875. She married Noah W Gibson.

     Lillie was one of thirteen children. Most all moved west of the Mississippi River. Lillie was a teacher in Chicago, IL from 1927 to 1937. Lillie and her husband lived in Fontanelle, IA, a small town of about 1,000 people. They had a farm not far from town, where they lived for more than 36 years.
     Noah was a business man, according to his wife in a letter written to John W. Vreeland.
     Mary was a teacher in Honolulu, Hawaii and got her Master's Degree at the University of Hawaii. Paul lived in Chicago, Cook, IL and worked at the La Salle St. office of Standard Oil Co. He did secretarial work.

     Martha Britton was born in 1759.¹ She married Thomas Armstrong, son of Hugh Armstrong and Margaret Moore, on 12 October 1781 at New Jersey.¹ Martha Britton died in 1817.¹

     Thomas Armstrong and Martha lived in 1782 at Wantage Twp, Sussex County, NJ, on the Papakating.² Married name: Armstrong.

     Mary Britten was born on 2 March 1780 at Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ. She died in 1834 at Springfield, IL.

     Mary Edith Britten was born on 5 November 1851 at Newark, Essex County, NJ. She married William Henry Vreeland, son of Tunis H Vreeland and Elizabeth Cook, on 2 February 1871 at Newark, NJ. Mary Edith Britten died on 18 November 1925 at Atlantic City, Atlantic County, NJ. She was buried on 21 November 1925 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Newark, Lot #131 Section P.¹

     The 1900 census lists William Henry Vreeland and Mary Edith at Newark (Ward 15, District 5, ED 154), Essex County, NJ, with their children Edith, Frederick, Clarence and Charles, and daughter-in-law Eva Vreeland.² Mary Edith Britten made a will on 10 May 1913 at Essex County, NJ.      Mary Edith Brittain lived at 73 Findly Place, Vailsburg section of Newark, Essex, NJ. Sometime after her husband died, she moved to Ocean Grove NJ to live out her remaining years with her daughter, Edith Marie.
At the end of her life she was in Mercer Memorial Home, Atlantic City, Atlantic, NJ. Mary died of arteriosclerosis and chronic myocarditis. Name variation: Mary Edith Brittain.¹ Married name: Vreeland.

     Miriam Britten was born on 3 March 1782 at Middletown, Monmouth County, NJ. She died in 1838 at Vervoils, KS.

     Nathaniel Brittaine was born in 1665 at Newtown, NY, (13 yrs in 1678, source of place unknown.)¹ He was baptized on 14 July 1678 at Flatlands, NY, (DRC.)¹ He died in 1708 at Staten Island, NY.

     Nathaniel Brittain was born in 1666 at Dongan Hills, Staten Island, NY.¹ He (2) married Elisabeth Gerritsen before 1714 at Staten Island, NY.^1,2 Nathaniel Brittain died before 11 November 1729 at Dongan Hills, NY.^1,2

     Nathaniel Brittain was born circa 1630 at England.¹ He married Anne Stillwell between 1653 and 1656 at Long Island, NY.¹

     Nicholas Brittaine was born in 1680 at Staten Island, NY. He was baptized on 17 October 1680 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC) (sponsors: Jaques Guion and Sara Casier; father Wm. Britten, mother Maria, of S.I.)^2,3 He died on 12 January 1740 at NY.

     Richard Brittaine was born in 1667 at Old Town, Richmond County, NY, (11 yrs in 1678, source of place unknown.)¹ He was baptized on 14 July 1678 at Flatlands, NY, (DRC.)¹ He died circa 1732 at Monmouth County, NJ.

     Richard Mentor Johnson Britten was born on 3 April 1831 at Manhattan, New York County, NY. He died at Grant, WI.

     Sarah Britten was born on 17 March 1755 at Manhattan, New York County, NY.

     Sibell Britten was born in April 1745 at Manhattan, New York County, NY.

     William Britten was born on 1 June 1821 at New York. He died on 2 January 1901 at Veteran's Hospital, Leavenworth, KS. He was buried in Bridgewater.

     William Brittaine was born circa 1637 at Gloucester, England. He married Maria Stillwell, daughter of Nicholas Stillwell Jr. and Anne Van Dyke, in 1660 at Staten Island, NY. William Brittaine was baptized on 14 July 1678 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC.)² He died in 1683 at NY.

     The entire family was baptized on 14 Jul 1678 in the Flatlands (should be Flatbush!) Dutch Church.
Wm. Britton, of S. I., Maria, his wife, and seven children, viz. : Willem, age 15, Nathanael, age 13, Richard, age 11, Joseph, age 9, Benj., age 7, Jan, age 5, Daniel, age 1 1/2 yrs.
     Jan and Daniel moved to New Jersey. It is unclear whether there are one or two children Nicholas. The (unnamed) source has Flatlands on Staten Island, but it is in Brooklyn.²

     William Brittaine was born in 1663 at Newtown, NY, (15 yrs in 1678, source of place unknown.)¹ He was baptized on 14 July 1678 at Flatbush, NY, (DRC.)¹ He died in 1708.

     William Brittain was born on 15 October 1754 at New Jersey.¹ He married Christiana Moody.¹ William Brittain died in 1828 at Greenwich, Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada.¹

     William Brittain was born between 1723 and 1725.¹ He married Mary Collins, daughter of Joseph Collins and Rachel Dorsett, on 30 November 1743 at Monmouth, NJ.¹ William Brittain died on 15 March 1804 at Hunterdon, NJ.¹

     William Cox Britten was born on 21 October 1848 at Newark, Essex County, NJ. He married Alice Lavinia DeVoe on 5 January 1870 at Newark, Essex County, NJ, (Centinary M.E. Church) (by The Rev. H.C. McBride.) William Cox Britten died on 11 March 1916 at Bridgeport, CT. He was buried on 7 September 1916 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Newark.¹

     William was a trunk maker and resided at 119 Jefferson Street, Newark, NJ.
     At the age of 15 1/2 on 23 June 1864, he enlisted into the army as a private in Company G, 37th Regiment in the New Jersey Volunteer Infantry for 100 days from Newark, NJ. William served as a drummer. He was discharged at Trenton, NJ 1 October 1864. This was Captain William J. Roberts' Company. He also served in the 4th Battery Light Artillery from12 August 1864 to 17 June 1865 as a bugler. This was Captain Charles R.Doane's Company and was finally discharged in Richmond Virginia.
When William applied for his War Pension on 24 October 1910, he listed his occupation as a melter - refiner

     William returned to Newark to live and work. Five years after his discharge he married Alice, who died less than a year later. William never married again. He stayed in Newark until 1872, then moved to Providence, RI. He resided in Providence until 1912, when he moved to Bridgeport, CT. He stayed there at 163 Harriet Street until his death in 1916.

     Sabine Brock was born on 8 February 1838 at Grafenstein, Prussia, Germany.¹ She married Ludwig Kurzenknabe on 15 March 1855 at New York, NY, (First German Presbyterian Church.)^1,2 Sabine Brock died on 28 March 1875 at Hackensack, NJ, in child birth.¹ She was buried in Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack.¹

     The 1870 census lists Ludwig Kurzenknabe and Sabine at New Barbadoes, Bergen County, NJ, with their children Francis (15), Henrietta (13), Elizabeth (8), Augusta (6), and Ludovic (4). He is a grocer, and listed as Ludovic.³ She and Ludwig had ten more children:
Anna Gertrud Elizabeth (18 May 1858 - <1862), Carl (25 Jul 1859), Johann Heinrich (22 Nov 1861), Augusta (c 1884), Ludwig (19 Jan 1865, NYC), Conrad (13 Mar 1866, twin), Lulu (13 Mar 1866-12 Feb 1872, twin), Sabine (c. 12 Aug 1867-28 Sep 1867), Charlie Frederick (30 Jun 1869-22 Jul 1869, Hackensack), and Lulu (c. 30 Mar 1875, Hackensack-c. 26 Jul 1875, bur. Maple Grove Park).¹ Name variation: Sabine Black.² Married name: Kurzenknabe.

     Mary Brockett was born on 18 February 1674.¹ She married Lawrence Clinton, son of Lawrence Clinton and Mary Wooden.¹

     William Henry Langdon Brockett was born on 24 February 1837 at Greenland, NH.¹ He married Henrietta A DeRochement, daughter of George Washington DeRochement and Henrietta Jacoba DeWit, on 4 January 1863.¹ William Henry Langdon Brockett died on 5 March 1895.¹

     Ann Brodhead was born on 6 March 1782.¹ She married Jacob Cantine, son of Peter Cantine and Magdalene Le Fevre, in 1799.¹ Ann Brodhead died on 21 September 1852.¹
