They left Texel on 8 Oct. 1636 and arrived at New Amsterdam on 4 Mar 1637.3 Roeloff C Van Houten lived in 1641 at Rensselaerwyck (Albany), NY.7 He was in 1648 a soldier in the Dutch army. at New Amsterdam.7
     NOTE: Roelof's birthdate is mostly listed as 25 Jun 1628, but this seems awfully late: he would have 15 at marriage, and 9 when he came to America.
