     Thomas Montanje was baptized on 17 May 1772 at New York City (DRC) (no sponsors listed; father John Montanje, mother Maria Blank.)^1,2

     Cateranus married Cornelis Van Tassel.³ Cateranus died in 1659.¹

     She was supposedly a princess of the Montauk Indians, but there does not seem to be any supporting evidence. Ian Gertsse Proons and Anna van Nussele; father Ian Franssen Montenaeck, mother Elijsabet Goderis.)² She married Johannes Van Gelder on 5 May 1660 at Beverwijk, The Netherlands.^3,4 (Banns on 18 April 1660 at NH, Haarlem, The Netherlands. rec'd certificate to go to Beverwijk.)⁵

     Tanneke Montenac and Johannes had another daughter, Cornelia (bp.2 Feb 1676; parents Jan Van Gelder and Tanneken Montenac; sp. Anthony de Mill and Cornelia Lubberts; d.y; NYDC p.121).^6,1 Her parents were Ian Franssen Montenaeck and Elijsabet Goderis. They had two more children bp. in Rotterdam.⁷ Married name: Van Gelder.

     Alsie Montgomery was born on 24 August 1824 at Murry, GA.¹ She married Adam Neill, son of Robert Neill and Ann I Berry, on 24 July 1845 at Murray, GA.¹ Alsie Montgomery died on 17 December 1898 at Barry, MO.¹

     Hiram Montgomery was born on 16 July 1796 at South Carolina.¹ He married Milky Cavender, daughter of Clemeth Cavender and Rebecca Dedman, on 23 January 1819 at Hall, GA.¹ Hiram Montgomery died on 10 December 1867 at Murry, GA.¹

     His parents were ? Montgomery and Alsey. He was b. in South Carolina betw. 1760 and 1770; d. bef 1820; she was b. c. 1780 in Virginia; and d. after 1850 in Hall, GA.¹

     Charles Montross was born in 1857 at Saugerties, NY.¹ He married Mary Alice DeWitt, daughter of Peter DeWitt and Ellen, at Saugerties?, NY.¹ Charles Montross died on 15 June 1928.¹ He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Saugerties.¹

     Harmen Montross was born at Philipsburgh (Tarrytown), NY.² He was baptized on 19 April 1720 at Tarrytown, NY, (Sleepy Hollow Church.)^3,4 He married Mary Post on 30 August 1740 at Tarrytown, NY, (Sleepy Hollow Church) (He was Harmen Montras, jm, b. in Philips Burgh; she Maritie Post, jd, b. in Haverstree, both liv. in Philips Burgh.)^5,2

     Margaret Montross married Abraham Ecker, son of Wolfert Ecker and Maritie Sybouts, on 15 June 1728 at New York City (DRC.)^1,4,5,6,7 (with license; Abraham Ekker and Margar'ta Montros; reg. On 15 June 1728.)⁷

     Margaret Montross and Abraham had at least one more child: Rebecca, who is listed in Margaret's will; Konight has three Tarrytown numbers (1181, 1295, and 1450), prob. indicating three more children.^8,9,10

     Margarita Montross was born circa 1758 at Cortlandtown, Westchester County, NY. She married Hendrick (Henry) Lent, son of Abraham Lent and Mary Waldron, circa 1776.¹ Margarita Montross died after 14 November 1817 (date of will.)¹

     Henry inherited from his father extensive land holdings south of the present village of Peekskill on the Hudson River. He operated a brickyard and built a dock for shipping the bricks. He served in the Colonial Army during the Revolutionary War and, on 3 different occasions during his absence from home on service, Loyalists (Tories) destroyed his personal property-grain, stock. household goods-amounting to £ 780 (LF 59, 60).
     By his will dated 9 Apr. 1812 and proved 6 Oct. 1813 he left to his "loving wife Chrechy" the full privilege of his present habitation. and likewise the full privilege, direction and advantage of his live stock, and also all other personal property during her remaining his widow, also his negro boy Joseph; to his son Abraham the north part of his dwelling farm. adjoining the Post Road, with all improvements thereon, also his dock-100 feet on the water front and 200 feet back; to his son John the south part of his dwelling. farm; his meadow to be divided equally between his son John and his grandson James (son of his son Abraham) ; to his grandson James all the remaining part of his land on the west side of the high way aforesaid, likewise the front room of his dwelling house and the garden and half the orchard; various specific bequests to his sons John and Abraham, such as the brickyard and clay belonging thereto, the saw mill, milch cow, etc; to his daughter Sarah $150; and to his 4 granddaughters (daughter of his son Henry)-Nancy, Mary, Margaret, and Elizabeth - $112.50 to be divided equally between them , both the sums to be paid by John and Abraham (LF 73).
     By her will, dated 14 Nov. 1817, Margaritta left to her son Abraham H. Lent all her real or personal estate and made him her executor (LF 60). She signed by her mark. Her father was Abraham Montross.² Married name: Lent.

     Susan Amelia Montross was born circa 1842 at New Jersey.¹ She married George Washington Gregory, son of James Hunter Gregory and Elizabeth Smith.¹

     Clara Moockers was born at The Netherlands.^2,3 She married Adrian Poste between 1625 and 1630 at The Netherlands.^2,3,4 Clara Moockers died after 21 August 1663 at Bergen, NJ.^2,3

     Adrian and Clara had left Brazil to go back to the Netherlands. From there they sailed on the ship New Netherland's Fortune to New Netherland, arriving 19 Dec 1650.¹ She and Adrian had one more daughter, Lysbeth (no data); Schulze has two daughters Lysbeth, one b. c 1654; the other b. c. 1668.^4,1 Name variation: Clara.² Married name: Poste.

     Charlotte Elmira Mooers was born on 9 May 1828.¹ She married Major Hooper Donaldson, son of James Donaldson and Mary Urquhart, on 23 March 1848.¹ Charlotte Elmira Mooers died on 6 January 1919.¹ She and Major Hooper Donaldson were buried in Fairmont Cemetery in Presque Isle.¹

     David Mooers was born circa 1765 at Maugerville, New Brunswick, Canada.¹ He married Hannah Langden circa 1765 at Maugerville, Sunbury County, New Brunswick, Canada.¹ David Mooers died circa 1838 at Mirimichi Area.¹

     David Mooers is listed in 'Over the Portage' by William R. MACKINNON, Jr. (Fredericton, N.B. : New Ireland Press, 1984.) as an 1809 Grantee in the Ludlow, New Brunswick area. He is listed as a son of Peter Mooers of Maugerville, first settled Queensbury, then to Mirimichi by 1804; lots 24 and 25 north side and Island 4; Overseer of Fisheries, 1807; married Hannah ______; children Abraham 1792; Jerusha 1793; Langden 1794; John 1796; Nathanial, Isaac, Stephen, Thomas, James, Sally, Wiliam, Samuel 1805, Hannah, Mary 1809, David 1811; died after 1826. Dates of birth are given in "In Beyond the Mountain."¹

     Elizabeth Mooers was born on 12 November 1877 at Ludlow, Aroostook County, ME.¹ She died on 8 January 1974 at Bangor, ME.¹ She was buried in Ludlow.¹

     Huldah Mooers was born on 24 June 1751.¹ She married Ebenezer Whitney on 17 January 1769 at Sunbury, Sheffield County, Canada.¹

     In the geneology of the Mooers family 'From Mirimichi to In Behind the Mountain by Leona Thornton Brown, and Over the Portage, Early History of the Mirimichi, by William Mackinnon, Jr. lists David Mooers children as Abraham, Jerusha, Langden, John, Nathanial, Isaac, Stephen, Thomas, James, Sally, William, Samuel, Hannah, Mary and David. (These are undocumented) Isaac's date of birth is given ca 1799, d. before 1834 in N. B. Canada. The first four children were born in Queensbury, David in Ludlow Parish. No place of birth given for the remainder of the children.
     Marriages of New Brunswick, reel F 137 list the marriage of Isaac Mooers and Sarah SMALL on 26 Jan 1820. Witnesses were Nathanial Moors and James Mitchell. According to 'In Behind the Mountain', Isaac Mooers, son of David, was born ca 1798, d ca 1835, m Sarah Small b 1 May 1799, d. 26 Dec 1876. Children listed were Deborah b 1820; Samuel b 23 Feb 1822, m Mary Ann Green; Richard William b 23 Feb 1824; Daniel b 1826; Charlotte Elmire b 9 May 1828, d 6 Jan 1919, m Major Hooper Donaldson; George A. b 1830, d 15 Jan 1916, m Adelia B. O'Neal, and Isaac b 14 Apr 1831, d 22 Apr 1865. Some of the children came to Milo, ME (page 47.)¹

     Mary Mooers was born on 6 July 1809.¹ She married James P Mitchell, son of Lewis Mitchell and Sarah Crabtree, on 21 October 1824 at Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada.¹
