     Geertje Hopper was baptized on 7 August 1774 at Paramus, NJ, (DRC) (sponsors: Jan Clase and Marytje Zabriskie.)³ She married Geertje Hopper, daughter of John J Hopper and (2) Aaltje Hopper Richard Van Dien, son of Thomas Van Dien and Maria Bogert.¹

     On 12 Dec 1788 Charity Hopper, of Bergen Co; Ward, daughter of John Hopper and Altye Hopper, of said Co., deceased. Said ward makes choice of her brother, John I. Hopper, as her Guardian.

     Geertje Hopper was baptized on 10 April 1784 at Paramus, NJ, (DRC) (sponsors: Albert Van Voorhees and wife.)² She married Frederick B Mabie, son of Fredericus Mabie and Catherine De Voe.^1,3

     There are some problems with this couple; he is 20 yrs younger than his wife, and she would have been 66 at the birth of her last child; see BC-Families. Although the age at death fits with Geertje's birthdate, was there a later sister Geertje, and are their dates mixed up?^3,4 Name variation: Charity Hopper.³ Married name: Mabie.

     George Hopper was born on 4 July 1902 at Mahwah, Bergen County, NJ.¹ He married Helen May Snyder, daughter of John Felter Snyder and Anna May Terwilliger, on 30 June 1925 at Glen Rock, Bergen County, NJ. George Hopper died in May 1952.¹

     George Clinton Hopper was born on 20 June 1814.¹ He married Harriet L Jackson on 17 July 1849.^1,2 George Clinton Hopper died on 3 April 1889.³ He was buried in Onandaga Valley Cemetery in Syracuse.³

     Gerret Hoppen was born in December 1696 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ. He was baptized on 25 December 1696 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC) (sponsors: Mattys Hoppe and Vrouwtje Verwey.)^3,4,5 He married Catherine Cassouw.² Gerret Hoppen died before 14 June 1786.

     He was in 1753 an elder The Church on the Green in Hackersack.⁶ Gerret Hoppen made a will on 7 November 1770. It was proved 14 Jun 1786.⁷

     Gerrit Hopper was baptized on 10 May 1724 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)^2,4 He married Elsje Earle, daughter of William Earle and Maryken Oudewater, on 11 December 1748 at Bergen, NJ.^5,2,6,7 Gerrit Hopper died on 17 February 1792.⁸ He was buried in Hopper Cemetery (First Street) in Ho-Ho-Kus.⁸

     Gerrit Hopper made a will on 9 February 1792. It was proved 4 Jun 1792. He was Gerret Hopper, of Paramus, Bergen Co. Names only wife Elsie, she to be executrix. Witnesses: Garret Ackerman, Jacobus Bogert, and James Rhea.⁹

     Gerrit Hopper and Hendrickje had one more son, Andries (b.19 Nov 1742, bp. 1 Jan 1743; d. y.)¹¹ Gerrit Hopper and Margrietje had a son Gerrit, bp. 27 Sep 1767 (Paramus p.48), d. 15 Apr (Paramus Deaths #148).⁸ Name variation: Gerrit A Hopper.¹²

     Gerrit Hopper was born on 2 May 1748.^2,3,4 He (1) married Marytje Zabriskie, daughter of Jacob H Zabriskie and Weyntje Terhune.^3,5 Gerrit Hopper (2) married Marytje Ackerman, daughter of Johannes Ackerman and Jacomyntie.³ Gerrit Hopper died on 19 January 1829 at Paramus, Bergen County, NJ, aged 80.8.17.^4,5 He was buried in DRC Churchyard in Paramus.⁵

     His birthdate also listed as 1 May 1746.¹ Gerrit Hopper and Marytje had one more daughter, Elisabeth, bp. 10 Apr 1785; DRC Paramus p.91.⁶ Name variation: Garrit J Hopper.⁴

     Garret A Hopper was born on 28 January 1755.^2,4 He was baptized on 6 February 1757 at Paramus, NJ, (DRC.)^5,6 He married Catherine Cooper, daughter of John Cooper and Anna Maria Goetschius, on 5 May 1781.^1,2,3,7 Garret A Hopper died on 18 December 1830 aged 75.10.20.⁸ He was buried in DRC Cemetery in Paramus.⁸

     Gerrit J Hopper was baptized on 27 September 1767 at Paramus, NJ.¹ He married Elizabeth Ackerman, daughter of Gerrid Ackerman and Rachel Van Voorhees.¹

     Guilliam Hopper married Annaetje Stagg.¹

     Hannah Hopper married William G. Ackerman.¹ She died on 20 November 1846 aged 65.3.5.¹ She was buried in DRC Cemetery in Tappan.¹

     Hendrick Hopper was baptized on 12 December 1779 at Paramus, NJ, (DRC.)^3,4 He married Annatje Van Buskirk, daughter of Thomas A Van Buskirk and Maria Terhune, on 28 July 1797.^1,3,2,5 Hendrick Hopper died on 17 September 1823 aged 43.10.1.⁵ He was buried in DRC Cemetery in Upper Saddle River.⁶

     Hendrick Hoppen was born in 1655 at New Amsterdam. He was baptized on 9 January 1656 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Cornelis Aertszen and Belitje Hendricks; father Andries Hop, mother Geertie Hendricks.)^3,4,1,5 He married Marritje Janse Van Blarcom, daughter of Jan Lubbertsen and Magdaleentje Theunis, at Bergen, NJ, (DRC.)^6,7 (Banns on 14 March 1680. He was Hendrick Hoppe, ym from New York; she Maria Jans, yd from from Bergen. Married by the preacher at Bergen.)^8,1,9,5 Hendrick Hoppen died after 1737 at Hackensack, Bergen County, NJ.⁴

     In 1694 Hendrick joined the DRC in Hackensack; he also purchased 300 acres in Pollifly, which remained in the family until the 20th century.^1,10,9
     Hendrick, son of Andries Willemszen Hoppe(n) and Geertje Hendricks, was b. in New Amsterdam, and bap. there on 9 Jan 1656 at the NY RDCh. He moved across the Hudson River to the settlement at Bergen (now Jersey City, NJ), with his mother, step-father, and family when he was about six. He lived there until after his marriage as his first child was b. in Bergen, and bap. there in Dec 1680. Soon after, they moved to the new settlement at Hackensack where their next seven children were born. On 22 Sep 1694, "Hendrick Hoppe" joined the Hack.RDCh.(p.2). The family lived in the south-west section of what is now Hackensack/Hasbrouck Heights, then know as "Polifly." By deed dated 17 [May?] 1694, "John Berry of Bergen Co" conveyed to "Hendrick Hoppen of Essex Co., NJ" for £40, "...a certain parcel of Land lying between the Hackensack River and the Saddle River now in the possession and occupation of him, the said Hendrick Hoppen, containing in Breadth nine chains and six Links, running that breadth through a great swamp on a west-north-west course until it comes to the fresh meadow lying on the northwest side of the said swamp and from thence on a north-west course unto Saddle River. Breadth aforesaid one hundred forty four chains twenty lynks (sic) containing one hundred ninety acres English measure more or less" ... Also and another tract adjoining of 100 acres and a third of 320 acres of meadow . By this same indenture Hendrick bound himself and his heirs to pay also "a yearly quit rent of twenty two shillings" and in testimony thereof he signed his mark (Brg.Co. Deed A-89). Some of the deed in the microfilmed copy at Brg. Co.Courthouse is no longer readable, but was abstracted earlier by Nelson (p.344). This deed was referred to in a later deed, da. 18 Mar 1726, Hendrick Hoppen of New Barbadoes, Brg.Co. NJ, sold to Garret Hoppen of same [his son], for £150, land which Hendrick Hoppen had purchased "from Maj. John Berry 17 May 1694," bounded by the land of Hendrick vander Linde, the Saddle River, the line of Abram Ackerman and the line of Hendrick Brass.(Hendrick Hoppe(n) signed with his mark)(Brg. Co. Deed B-19). This property was to be owned by his descendants for many generations. The will of "Hendrick Hoppe of Bergen County in New Barbadoes, Freck(lin) County of Bergen in the Eastern Division of the Province of (New Jersey) yeoman, being of good health".was da. 26 Sep 1737 and was unrecorded (see next page for entire will). He mentioned: children of my eldest son Andries Hopp deceased, unto John hopp, unto my doughter Trintie van allen, unto my doughter Leah Zabowisko, unto my doughter Geertie Zabowriji and unto the children of my doughter Rachel Deceased, Six children or their heirs to divided equally £150 lawful money of this province - that is each "five and twenty pounds" to be paid by Longest [youngest] son Gerrit Hopp (the money is the payment of my Plantation in the Pollvley he bought of me in full); To grandson Hendrick Hoppe, the eldest son of my eldist son Andries Hopp Deceased the Sum of three shillings ... as his Provagatiif [prerogative] of his fatherss Birth Right. .. .All the remaining of the estate to be divided equally among my seven children or their heirs. Unto mij two Doughters Leah and geertie Zabouriski - ... my doughter Leah one silver cup and unto my Doughter geertie I do give one fleson(?) [apparently hard to read in the original or unknown] kelder called in Duch, to be their own without arguement. Signed with his mark. With banns on 14 Mar 1680, at Brg.RDCh.(mar.#42), "Hendrick Hoppe, y.m. (from New York) and Maria Jans, y.d.      Hendrick Hopper made a will on 13 April 1778. It was proved 4 Feb 1782. He was Henry Hopper, of Paramus, Bergen Co. Names granddaughter Annatje Hopper, daughter of son Andries Hopper, dec'd; son Abraham; daughter Marritje Hopper; daughter Altie; granddaughter Weyntie Hopper. Executors: son Abraham and nephew Andries John Hopper. Witnesses: Abraham Terhuyn, Cornelius Van Boskirk, and William Cairns.⁷

     Hendrick Hopper was born on 19 November 1769.^3,4 He was baptized on 10 December 1769 at Hackensack, NJ, (DRC.)⁵ He (1) married Tryntje Vreeland, daughter of Enoch Vreeland and Catrina Outwater.^6,1 Hendrick Hopper (2) married Jane.^1,7

     Hendrick Hopper and Tryntje had two more children:
