     The 1900 census lists Cornelius Van Vlaanderen and Lena, with a daughter Jennie Rose (31) and granddaughter Nellie Rose (8 mo.)² The 1910 census lists Cornelius Van Vlaanderen at Totowa Borough (Manchester Twp), Passaic County, NJ, with three children John, Adam and Josie.³

     Jennie Van Vlaanderen was born on 11 November 1868 at Koudekerke, Zeeland, The Netherlands, ((she is legitimized at the marriage of her parents.)^2,3,1) She (1) married ? Rose. She (2) married Oskar Hiemstra in 1904.^1,4

     Jennie Van Vlaanderen immigrated in 1894.⁴ The 1910 census lists Oskar Hiemstra and Jennie at 222 Totowa Road at Totowa Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with a son John (5), and a stepdaughter Nellie Rose (10), both born in New Jersey.⁴ The 1920 census lists Oscar Heemstra and Jennie at Totowa Road (#262) at Totowa Borough, Passaic County, NJ, with two children Nellie R (20) and John (15), both born in New Jersey.¹ Name variation: Adriana Maas.² Name variation: Adriana van Vlaanderen.³ Married name: Rose.      Johanna Susanna Van Vlaanderen was born on 7 April 1887 at Middelburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹

     John Van Vlaanderen was born circa 1873 at The Netherlands.¹ He married Lavina Botbyl on 22 October 1896.¹ John Van Vlaanderen died on 7 March 1941 at West Palm Beach, FL.¹

     The 1920 census lists John Van Vlaanderen and Lavina at 123 Haledon Ave at Paterson City (Ward 1), Passaic County, NJ, with three children: Albert, Christine and Ada, and his brother-in-law William Botbyl.²

     Peter Van Vlaanderen was born in 1851 at Oost en West Souburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.² He married Neeltje Maas, daughter of Jan Maas and Tannetje Caljouw, on 7 July 1871 at Koudekerke, Zeeland, The Netherlands.² Peter Van Vlaanderen died between 1900 and 1910.^3,4

     The 1900 census lists Peter Van Vlaanderen and Neeltje at 5 Bridge Street at Paterson City (Ward 3), Passaic County, NJ, with six children: Cornelius, Nellie, Magdalina, Tina, Suzie, and Bessie.³ Peter Van Vlaanderen was minister of 1st Christian Reformed Church of Paterson.¹

     Pieter Van Vlaanderen was born in 1819 at Vlissingen, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹ He married Johanna Suzanna Meijers on 20 May 1848 at Oost en West Souburg, Zeeland, The Netherlands.¹

     His parents were Cornelis Van Vlaanderen and Adriana Schot.¹

     Abraham Van Vlek was baptized on 3 June 1687 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Pieter de Lanoy and Anna Van Vleck; father Isaac Van Vleck, mother Catalina de Lanoy.)^1,2 He married Maria Kip, daughter of Johannes Kip and Catharine Kierstede, on 24 June 1710 at New York City (DRC.)^3,4 (with license; Abraham Van Vlek and Maria Kip; reg. On 1 June 1710.)³

     Abraham Van Vlek and Maria had four children, all bp. NYDC:

     Isaac and Catalina are listed in the NYDC member list of 1686 as "Isaac Van Vleck and his wife Catalina de la Noy" (member #315-6, name #395-6.)^15,16 Isaac Van Vleck made a will on 16 January 1688. It was proved 15 Apr 1695. He mentions his wife Cattaline; and his children, Hester, Magdalena, Cornelia, Maria, and Abraham. Makes Johanes Van Cowenhowen, Cornelius Pluvier, and Wm. Beekman, or his son Henry Beekman, and my brothers-in-law Abraham and Peter DeLanoy tutors and overseers.¹²

     Magdaleentje Van Vleck was from Bremen, Germany, acc. to her marriage certificate.^2,3 She was baptized on 30 January 1642 at Bremen, Germany, (St. Ansgarius.)⁴ She married Jacob Abramse Santfort on 26 December 1677 at New York City (DRC.)^2,3,5,6 (Banns on 9 December 1677. He was wid. of Zytie Ariaens, she jd from Bremen, both living in N. Yorke.)³

     Magdalena Van Vleck was baptized on 3 June 1675 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Wilhelmus Beeckmans and Catharina De Boog; father Isaac Van Vleck, mother Cornelia Beeckman; child listed as Catharina.)⁴ She (1) married Hendrick Kip, son of Jacob Kip and Maria De La Montagne, on 10 June 1697 at New York City (DRC.)^5,1,6 (Banns on 8 June 1697. He was from N. Yorck; she jd from same, both living here.)⁶ Magdalena Van Vleck (2) married Alexander Baird on 24 April 1700 at New York City (DRC.)^7,1,8 (with license.      Maria Van Vleck was baptized on 3 May 1685 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Abraham de Peyster and Maria de Lanoy; father Isaac Van Vleck, mother Catalina de Lanoy.)² She married Hans Kierstede, son of Lucas Kierstede and Rachel Kip, on 3 March 1710 at New York City (DRC) (Hans Kiersted and Maria Van Vlek.)^1,3,4

     Maria Van Vleck and Hans had three children, all bp. NYDC:

     Tielman Van Vleck was born in 1610.³ He married Magdalyn Herlyns in 1635 at Bremen, Germany.³

     Tielman and Magdalyn are on the NYDC memberlist of 1649 as "Tileman Van Vleck and Magdaleen Herlyns, his wife."⁴ Tielman Van Vleck and Magdalyn had two more children, who are sponsors for various baptisms:
1. Catalynia (NYDC p.162, p.186)
2. Johannes (NYDC p.100).⁵
     The Van Vleck family originates in Limburg, in Vliek near Maastricht. Tielman's parents lived in Bremen and Amsterdam (where they died). Tielman went back to Bremen after he gained his majority, and married there. From 1655 he lived again in Amsterdam. In 1658 he and his family came to New Amsterdam, he taking the small burgher oath on 18 Jul 1658.²

     Jannetie Van Vleckerens married Lawrence Low, son of Laurens Jansen Cortright and Maritje Roosa, on 12 June 1725 at Bloomingdale, NJ. Jannetie Van Vleckerens died in 1772.¹

     Catharine Van Vliet was born circa 15 September 1755.¹ She married John De Witt, son of Petrus De Witt and Rachael Radcliffe, in April 1773.¹ Catharine Van Vliet died on 29 September 1804 during a Long Island visit.¹

     Clara Van Vliet was born on 12 March 1794.¹ She died unmarried.¹

     Daniel Van Vliet married Sarah Cuddeback, daughter of William Cuddeback and Jacomyntje (Jemima) Elting, on 8 December 1752.
