His parents are Jan van de Water and Aerjaentje Jans, not Benjamin Van de Water and Elisabeth Meerman, as the Van de Water File suggests.2,6,1

NOTE: Stockholm File had most of Hendrick's children assigned to Jacobus. None of them had a son Benjamin, however, so it seems unlikely that that is true. The children have been re-assigned to Hendrick, according to the Bergen County Families (VandeWater File.)6,7,8

It has only the first Ann as daughter of Elizabeth; the rest (and more is assigned to Anna Skillman, younger sister of Elisabeth, except Johanna, David and Johannes, who are listed as the children of Hendrick and Susanna Ketelhuyn. Van de Water File had three marriages for Hendrik Van de Water Jr., but the two Hendricks cannot be the same as the baptisms run concurrently; thus the Hendricks have been separated. The marriage with Anna Stallman could be the same as Anna Skillman (but the children have not yet been re-assigned) Hendrick Van de Water could possibly be a son of Johannis Van de Water.1,3,4

Hendrik Van de Water Jr.1

M
Hendrik Van de Water Jr. (1) married Elizabeth Schilman.1 Hendrik Van de Water Jr. (2) married Anna Stalman.1

Family 1

Elizabeth Schilman
Children
  • Ann Van de Water b. 29 Aug 1718
  • Ann Van de Water b. 20 Dec 1721
  • Pieternella Van de Water b. 4 Nov 1724
  • Maria Van de Water b. 14 Aug 1726
  • Albertus Van de Water b. 22 Nov 1728

Family 2

Anna Stalman
NOTE: Bergen Families (Van de Water File) has Hendrik as possible son of Albertus Van de Water and Petronella Klopper. The marriage with Anna Stallman could be the same as Anna Skillman (but the children have not yet been re-assigned) Hendrick Van de Water could possibly be a son of Johannis Van de Water.2,1,3

M, b. 4 August 1643, d. January 1730/31
FatherBenjamin Van de Water3 b. c 1622
MotherElisabeth Meerman3 b. 18 Jun 1624
Jacobus Van de Water was baptized on 4 August 1643 at Amsterdam, The Netherlands, (DRC (New Church)) (sponsor: Pieter Harms; father Benjamin d'Water, mother Lijsbet de Mersman.)3 He married Engeltje Juriansen, daughter of Jurian Andriessen and Jannetje Jans, circa 1665.2,4,5,6 Jacobus Van de Water died in January 1730/31.1

Family

Engeltje Juriansen b. 7 Jan 1646
Children
Jacobus Van de Water lived at Pearl Street at New York City.1 He was in 1674 appointed a town mayor by Gov. Colve? At New York City.1,2 He was in 1689 a clerk at Kings County, NY.1,2 Jacobus Van de Water lived between 1677 and 1704 at Bedford.2
NOTE: Stockholm File has date of marriage as 17 Feb 1668, but Lijsbet is bapt. 20 Jul 1667, acc. to most sources, incl. Bergen Families (VandeWater File). Stockholm File has a baptism for an Elizabeth as 20 Jul 1677. If that is true, then the 1668 date for the marriage makes sense.1,4,7
NOTE: Stockholm File had most of Hendrick's children assigned to Jacobus. None of them had a son Benjamin, however, so it seems unlikely that that is true. The children have been re-assigned to Hendrick, according to the Bergen County Families (VandeWater File.)4,1,7

NOTE: Acc. to the Bergen County Families (VandeWater File) and others both Lysbeth (1670) and Elizabeth (1667) marry Johannes Poulesse/Paulus of Esopus on 4 Jul 1695. However it seems unlikely that this was the daughter of Jacobus
Lysbeth (daughter of Hendrick) and Johannes have no daughter Engeltje; Elizabeth is mentioned in the will of Hendrick's wife Margriet as her deceased daughter, wife of Johannes Poulisse; and all of the witnesses to the baptisms of Elizabeth's children belong to Hendrick's family. She and Johannes have a son Albertus in Sep 1712
Lysbeth (daughter of Jacobus) is married to John Quitance before Mar 1712, when letters of administration of his father-in-law estate are granted.4,5,8,2 Name variation: Elisabeth Van de Water.1 Married name: Poulesse.
