     Gelyn Roos was baptized on 31 October 1660 at New York City (DRC) (sp. Boele Roelofszen and Bayken Arents; father Gerrit Janszen Roos, mother Tryntie Arents.)^1,3,4 He died before 1697 as he is not listed in his father's will.⁵

     Roosa File had a marriage with Boyken Arents, but his sex as Female. That seems like an error, considering one of the sponsors was Baijken Arents. Gelyn is also not mentioned in his father's will, so prob. died young and without offspring. BC-Families Roos File agrees.^1,6

     Gerrit Roos was from New Albany, NY, acc. to his marriage certificate.⁴ He married Judith Claes Toers, daughter of Claes Arentsen Toers and Jacomyntje Van Nest, on 8 August 1710 at New York City (DRC.)^4,5 (Banns on 21 July 1710. He was Gerrit Roos, jm from N. Albany; she Judith Toers, jd from Bergen.)⁴ Gerrit Roos died on 10 September 1779.⁶ He was buried on 12 September 1779 in DRC Cemetery in Bergen, as "Gerrit Roos."⁶

     Gerrit Janszen Roos was from Haerlem acc. to his marriage certificate.^3,4 He (1) married Aeltje Lamberts, daughter of Lambert Hermenszen Wolf and Emmichjen Goosens, on 31 December 1651 (He was Gerrit Janszen, jm from Haerlem; she Aeltje Lamberts, jd from Uytrecht.)^3,1,5,2 Gerrit Janszen Roos (2) married Tryntje Arents, daughter of Arent Pietersz.^1,6,7 (Banns on 5 September 1659. He was Gerrit Janszen, wid. of Aeltje Lamberts; she Tryntje Arents, from Amsterdam.)⁸ Gerrit Janszen Roos died before 15 September 1698.⁹

     On 8 Jan 1659 Gerrit Janzen Roos announces death of his wife, who left him with three children, Pieter, 6 years old, Cornelia, 4 years old, Joannes, 2 years old. He accepts as guardians Abraham Verplanck and Jan Vigne.¹⁰
     Geerrit and Tryntje were listed in the NYDC Memberlist of 1686 as Gerrit Jantze Roos and his wife Tryntje Arents" (member #7-8, name #9-10.)^11,12 Gerrit Janszen Roos was named as executor in Jan Vinge's will dated 2 February 1688/89.^13,14,15,16 Gerrit Janszen Roos made a will on 3 September 1697. Inventory taken 15 Sep 1698. He was a carpenter. He mentions his eldest son Peter, liv. at Utrecht, Holland; his grandsons Peter Gerritse Roos (eldest son of son Peter), Gerrit Jansen Roos (eldest son of son Johanes), Gerrit Provost (eldest son of daughter Cornelia), and Aeltje (daughter of son Johanes). The rest of estate to be divided into five parts, and given to his son Peter; the children of his son Johanes, dec'd; to his daughter Cornelia, wife of Jacob de Moree; to his daughter Affie, wife of Johanes Van Gelder; and to Annatie Elswaert, daughter of my daughter Aeltie procured by John Elswaert. Executors: Jacob De Moree, Johanes Van Gelder, and Jacob Boelen.^17,9
     NOTE: While the sources say that Gerrit, son of Jan Roos and Maria Vigne, is born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, the same sources also say that Jan Roos married Maria Vigne in New Netherland!¹⁸ Name variation: Gerrit Jansen.¹⁹

     Geurt Roos was baptized on 10 November 1682 at Utrecht, The Netherlands, (DRC (Domkerk.)¹) He married Emmerens Provoost, daughter of Elias Provoost and Cornelia Roos, on 17 July 1725 at New York City (DRC.)^3,4,2,5 (with license; Geurt Roos and Emerentia Ver Plank; reg. On 17 July 1725.)⁵
