Birth of Simon is unproven, but consistent with matching records with RDC Second River and RDC Stone House Plains and known records of the time. RDC Second River is physically located in Belleville, NJ, RDC Stone House Plains is in Bloomfield, NJ. Simon Tuers is listed in the History of Nutley, NJ. Belleville, Bloomfield, and Nutley are virtually within walking distance of one another, implying to our research that this is the same family group.

Earlier records provide maiden name as Peck or Pake.
Names of children, Dorcas, daughter, age 43, and Ezra, age 31, are added based on the 1870 Census record.2
