Wallerand Dumond emigrated in 1657 from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.¹ Cadet, 2nd Leutenant in a company of soldiers sent by the Dutch Indies Co. He was a gentleman soldier and came (from Amsterdam) in the ship Draetrat or the Jan Baptist and settled Esopus, 1666.

Two of his sisters came over about 1667 in Spotted Cow, Margaret, wife of Pierre Kovier (Niu) and Elizabeth (afterward Mrs Meynard Jouineau).¹ He was a Deacon in the Huguenot Dutch Church.¹ Name variation: Walron Du Mont.¹ Name variation: Wallerandt Dumont.^2,1
