Henry J Hattesner was born on 30 June 1885.3,1,2 He married Anna R in 1922.4 He died in 1938.1,2 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack.1,2
In 1900 he may be living in Hillsdale, NJ, with Jonathan and Eva Clegg, who were both born in England, and came to the US in 1892. Henry is a 14 yr old laborer, b. NJ, father b. Germany, mother b. England (His name is indexed as Hatteines.)5
He enlisted in 1909 in Ridgewood. He was a waiter, and was discharged in 1912. The 1910 census lists him as a private in the army in Deerfield, Lake County, IL; his father is born in Germany, his mother in IL.6,7 Henry J Hattesner was a veteran serving during World War I.1,2
He was living at 218 Garden Street, Hoboken, when he registered for the draft. His nearest relative was August Miller in Dumont. He worked as a mail starter for the Hudson-Manhattan RR.3
In the 1930 census Henry (44, b. NJ, father b. Germany, mother b. NJ) and his wife Anna (37, b. NY, parents b. Germany) seems to living with his parents-in-law Henry and Amelia Salzman (both b. Germany) and their son Henry J (39, b. Germany). Henry and Anna were married 8 years.4 Name variation: Henry Joseph Hattemer.3
