Clark G. Smith, 87, of Fair Lawn, NJ passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, at the age of two he immigrated to the USA with his family settling in Paterson. Mr. Smith moved to Prospect Park where he resided until settling in Fair Lawn in 1975. Clark proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II where he was a member of the 980th Field Artillery Battalion. A parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church in Fair Lawn, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Ann Council Post 2853 in Fair Lawn.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as an air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic for the Marriott Corporation in Saddle Brook, NJ for more than ten years.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret (Wildermuth) and Mary (Holczer) Smith. Loving and devoted father of Clark G. Smith, Jr. and Lorraine LaRosa and husband, Frank. Dear brother of the late Wilma Kunzig and Bill and John Smith.
A funeral mass is planned for Saturday, September 12, 2009, 10:30 am at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne Street, Fair Lawn, NJ. Interment will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Inc., 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ.2
