(Oct 1881), Aggie (Nov 1883), Trina (Oct 1886), Richard (Jun 1889), Alice (Feb 1892), all born in Holland, and Winnie (Jul 1894) and Mary (Jul 1898) both born in NJ.2 Her parents were Siek Jans Attema and Mari Bottes Wiersma.3

He tuned to the ministry and was ordained a minister in the Presbyterian Church on 15 Jun 1848. After working at Tribes Hill and Brooklyn he joined the Reformed Church and was assoc. editor of the Christian Intelligencer from 1853-1868 and editor from 1868-1872.1
