     On 6 Apr 1709 Jan sold land to his brother Victoor. Jan was a freeholder in Schenectady in 1709 and 1713. In June 1733 Arent leased some land from Peter Brower on the south side of the Mohawk River beginning at Ochrachqua or Auries Creek. Peter had obtained the land from an Indian. This is probably where Arent was in 1754 which was referred to as the Maquaas country.2 Arent Pootman and Lysbet lived at Schenectady, NY, after their marriage.1 Arent Pootman was in 1713 a weaver. at Schenectady, NY.2 His parents were Jan Pootman and Cornelia Andriesse Bratt.3
     Arent's parents were killed on 8 Feb 1690, in the burning of Schenectady, leaving six children.3
     Putman lineage has all children bp. in Albany; Konight has them bp. in Schenectady.2,3 Name variation: Arent Putman.2
