     He came to New Netherland in 1649 with his family. He took the oath of allegiance in 1687 as "Willem Jacobs Van Boerum," 38 yrs in country.1,4,5 William Jacobse Van Boerum and Geertje had another daughter Hillegont.2,3 William Jacobse Van Boerum made a will on 1 October 1687. It was proved 3 Oct 1688. He mentions his wife Geertje Hendrickse and four children: Hendrick (the eldest), Geertruy, Jacob, and Hillsgont; also his daughter's daughter Gerrittie Gerritse. Witnesses: Garrit Dorlant and John Barentse Blom.3
