Helen Jane Tuers was born on 29 December 1827 at Pompton Plains, NJ.1 She was baptized on 6 April 1828.1
NOTE: James Turse had assigned the 1850 census entry both to Helen Jane Tuers and to Ellen Jane Tuers. However, it is clearly Ellen Jane Tuers: her mother's name is Ellen, and she has a brother John J (although his age is a bit off). However, Ellen Jane is still listed with her maiden name; the children are clearly Van Imburgh (which seems more reasonable than Vanenburgh). I have for the moment left the marriage with Helen, but put the census with Ellen only. See also the note with Ellen's brother John Jasper Tuers.3 Name variation: Turse.1 Married name: Vanenburgh.
