Jan and Cornelius came to New Netherland in 1663.8 Cornelis was a 'member of the troop of horse'. He made a will on 25 February 1689. It was probated 18 March 1705/6. It mentions his wife Meetye Bastiaense; her eldest son Jan Cornelisen; other (unnamed) sons and daughters; and Meetye Devoor, daughter of Daniel Devoor.6,9
In 1675 Cornelius and Laurens divided lands that had been bought jointly. These lands composed the beginnings of resp. the Kortright and Low families. Laurens descendents use the surname Low, Cornelis' descendents use the Kortright (later Courtright and other variations.)10
NOTE: An unknown source has place of birth of the daughters as Beest, The Netherlands; but as he came to New Netherland in 1663, this seems unlikely.11,12 Name variation: Cornelis Janszen.
