     Catherine Mann was born circa 1764 at Virginia.¹ She married John Cordry, son of John Cordry and Hannah Langston, circa 1780 at Virginia.¹ Catherine Mann died on 2 July 1846 at Cooper, MO.¹

     Harry Scott Mann was born on 18 January 1889 at Pierpont, Ashtabula County, OH.¹ He married Mable Spohn, daughter of Henry Spohn and Susan Tuers, on 15 April 1914 at Montclair, Essex County, NJ. Harry Scott Mann died on 19 July 1934 at Montclair, NJ.¹ He was buried on 21 July 1934 in Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield.²

     Harry Scott Mann, Mable Spohn, Arthur Spohn and William Spohn were listed in the Children's Home at 121 Gates Ave at Montclair, NJ,in the census of 1900.³ The 1910 census listed Harry Scott Mann in Arthur and Lillian A Spohn's household at 601 Bloomfield Ave at Montclair (Ward 2), Essex County, NJ.^4,5 Harry Scott Mann was in 1914 a chauffeur.
     Harry Mann is the grandfather of Richard Mann.
Richard Mann holds obituary from the paper and a copy of the 1900 Census showing that he was an inmate of the Children's Home in Montclair.
He is listed as a chauffeur and I have pictures of him in his uniform. Family letters addressed to him by a Kate Wallace, who identifies herself as a cousin and her mother as an aunt to his mother who lived in Montclair and refers to family that still lived in Phillipi, WV and his father who reportedly moved to OH where he started a second family that possibly resulted in 2 daughters.

     The 1880 census lists William Wilkin Carpenter and Amelia A at Middletown, Orange County, NY, with their children William, Mary, Addie and Samuel; and his parents Edward M (72, carpenter) and Elizabeth (71, lady) Carpenter.² Married name: Amelia A Carpenter.²

     Abigail Mapes was born circa 1716.² She married Richard Terrill on 9 September 1736 at Southold, Suffolk County, NY.^3,4 Abigail Mapes died on 19 November 1779.

     Arminda Doty Mapes was born in 1856.¹ She married Isaac Parmer Bodle, son of Jonathan Bodle and Diantha Rundle, on 27 September 1882 at Mt. Hope, Orange County, NY, (They were married by J. Deane, pastor of the Congregational Church of Howells, NY.) Arminda Doty Mapes died in 1892 at Port Jervis, Orange County, NY.¹

     Benjamin Mapes was born in 1727. He (1) married Elizabeth Bayley on 6 July 1747 at Southold, Suffolk County, NY.^3,4 He (2) married Margaret DeVoo, daughter of Daniel DeVoo III and Sarah Mapes, circa 1754.⁵ Benjamin Mapes died circa 1756.
