John was well educated and his family were zealous Catholics. He became a Puritan and cut himself off from his aristocratic family. He came to New England as an indentured sevant to pay for his passage.1 John was listed as a member of the Dedham Church 20 Nov 1642 and 20 Jan 1643. He removed to Medfield in 1652 and in 1673 moved to Pocomtuck (Deerfield) in 1673. He later was captured and burned at the stake.1 Name variation: John Plympton.1 Name variation: Sgt. John Plympton.1
