     Aaron Ackerson was born in 1831 at New Jersey. He married Elmira Ackerman on 17 November 1851 at Lafayette Twp, Sussex County, NJ, (he was 21, liv. Lafayette, father Aaron; she 17, liv. Lafayette, mother Maria De Baun (added by Konight.)^2,3,4)

     Aaron Ackerson and Elmira had two more children, who prob. died before the 1860 census:
1. male Ackerson (b. 5 Aug 1854, Lafayette; p.110)
2. female Ackerson (b. 1860/61, Lafayette; p.201).⁴ The 1855 census lists Aaron Ackerson at Lafayette Twp, Sussex County, NJ, (#262-264). On the previous page (same image, #245-246) is another Aaron (72), with wife Catherine (67.)³ The 1860 census lists Aaron Ackerson at Lafayette Twp, NJ, with Mary C (7), Samuel N.W. (3), and Sarah A (1). Aaron is 29, Elmira 26, all are b. NJ.⁵

     Aaron A Ackerson was born in 1810.³ He (1) married Lucy A Peters.³ Aaron A Ackerson (2) married Margaret Onsted on 4 April 1855 at Newton, Sussex County, NJ, (he was a farmer, liv. in Lafayette, she in Newton.)¹ Aaron A Ackerson died on 17 February 1856 at Lafayette Twp, Sussex County, NJ.^4,3 He was buried in Vaughan Cemetery in Sparta.³

     The 1850 census lists Aaron A Ackerson and Lucy A at Lafayette Twp, Sussex County, NJ, with six children, all b. NJ: Mary C (13), James (10), Emanuel (8), Wesley C (5), Emma F (4), and Aaron J (2.)⁵ The 1855 census lists Aaron A Ackerson and Margaret at Lafayette Twp, NJ, with six children, all b.      Agnes Ackerson was born in 1808 at New Jersey.² She married David Ackerson, son of Jan Eckerson and Geertje Holdrum.²

     The 1850 census lists David Ackerson and Agnes at Sparta, Sussex County, NJ, with five children, and Anna Maria Mackerley (?sp, 20 b. NJ.)² The 1870 census lists David Ackerson and Agnes at Sparta, NJ, with Hiram (23, b. NJ, farmer) and Stephan Cortright (37, farmer, b. NJ). Davis is 61, b. NY, master farmer; Agnes is 63, b. NY. They are next door to Cyrus Ackerson and family.³

     Anna Maria Ackerson was born on 17 January 1828.² She (1) married William Call on 2 December 1848 at Ramapo, NY, (DRC.)² Anna Maria Ackerson (2) married William Weimar.² Anna Maria Ackerson died on 28 April 1870.²

     Catherine Ackerson died on 21 June 1894.^1,2 She was buried in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, (she is listed as Atckinson.)²

     Catherine Ackerson made a will on 22 July 1892 at Hudson County, NJ. It was probated 30 Jun 1894. She mentions her sister Mary Blake, and her niece Catharine Carr, wife of John Thomas Carr.¹
     1870 Census in Newark has Rob. Ackerson (34, b. NY) with Kate Ackerson (27, b. NY), Robert (3, b. NJ), Frank (2, b. NJ)
     There is a marriage in Newark of Robert Ackerson and Kate Carter on 29 Oct 1865. Robert is 27, Kate is 22, this fits with the 1870 census
     In the 1880 census in Hoboken a Cathrine Ackerson (39, b. Ireland, widowed) is living with Ellen Johnston (31, b. NJ, widowed) and two children: Edward (6), and Ida (1). This does not quite fit with the 1870 census and the marriage.^3,4,5
     Catherine Blake and John or Thomas Carr have at least two children born in NJ (Tresas 18 Dec 1897, birth Jersey City

     Possibly in the 1880 for Hoboken Christoph Blake (45, b. Ireland, brickman), wife Mary (40, b. Ireland), Charles (12, b. Ireland), Thomas (11, b. Ireland), Kate (9, b. NJ), John (4. b. NJ), and James (6, b. NJ.)^6,7,8

     Catherine Ackerson was born circa 1829 at New Jersey (21 in 1850.)^1,2 She married Michael May, son of David May and Mary Ann.³ Catherine Ackerson died before 1870.

     Catherine Ackerson and Michael had three more children: Mary A (b. c 1853; 1860, 1870 census), Sarah (b. c. 1857, d. b. 1870; 1860, 1870 census), and Louise (d. 26 Aug 1859 at age 5 mo, bu. Airmont; not in Findagrave).⁴ The 1860 census lists Michael May and Catherine at Eastchester, Westchester County, NY, with Mary A (7), Catherine J (6), and Sarah E (3), all b. NY. Michael was 33, b. NY, cabinet maker; Catherine was 32, b. NJ.^3,5 Married name: May.

     Caty Ann Ackerson was born on 6 March 1867 at Ramseys, NJ, (parents Thomas T. Ackerson and Elizabeth.)^1,2

     Charles C Ackerson Sr. was born on 5 April 1918 at Airmont, Rockland County, NY.¹ He married Gladys (?)¹ Charles C Ackerson Sr. died on 15 July 1993 at Tallman, NY.¹

     Charles C Ackerson Sr.'s obituary appeared on 16 July 1993 (It mentions his wife, four surviving children, two surviving brothers and one sister.)¹

     Charles D Ackerson was born in 1851.² He (1) married Helen May, daughter of Anthony May and Eliza Doremus, on 4 May 1872 at Suffern (Ramapo) (Airmont Lutheran Church.)^1,3 Charles D Ackerson (2) married Jemima L Straut, daughter of Abram J Straut and Elizabeth Jane Litchult.²

Cornelius is 52, a farmer, Sarah 48, all are b. NJ. They are on the same page as Ralph Ackerson and Aaron R. Ackerson, who are living in the same house, but are enumerated as separate families.¹

     Cyrus Ackerson was born in 1839 at New Jersey.¹ He married Mary.¹

     The 1870 census lists Cyrus Ackerson and Mary at Sparta, Sussex County, NJ, with Harriet (9), Charlotte (5), and Orilla (3), and Christine Pitney (18, servant). Cyrus is 31, master farmer, Mary 27, all are b. NJ. They are next door to David Ackerson.¹

     David Ackerson was born in 1825 at New York.² He married Ann E.^1,3 David Ackerson died on 27 April 1872 at New York City (intestate.)¹

     The 1870 census lists David Ackerson and Annie at ED 2, Ward 20 at New York City, with his son James (19, b. NY), and daughters Mary (13, b. NY) and Henrietta (7, b. NY). The address was prob. dwelling 440, no family#, the enumeration date seems to say Jan 1870 (or 71 on later pages.)³
     Besides his wife Ann E. Ackerson he left three children: Homer (residing in Jersey City, of full age), Mary C. and Henrietta (both minors, living in NYC.)¹
     There was another David Ackerson in 1870 in NYC. He lived in ED 7, Ward 20, dwelling 100, fmaily 344, with his wife Ann (40, b. NJ), son James (19, b. NY, stairbuilder), and daughters Mary (12, b. NY), Henrietta (6, b. NY), and Jennie (4, b. NY). Enumeration date for this was 25 Jun 1870. Both Davids were carpenters.²

     David Ackerson was born in 1874 at Airmont, NY.² He married Amanda Straut.¹ David Ackerson died on 15 January 1923 at Airmont, NY.² He was buried in Airmont Lutheran Cemetery in Suffern.²

     David Ackerson's obituary appeared on 22 January 1923 (It mentions his widow Manda and seven children, as well as his parents and a sister.)² Name variation: David H Ackerson.²

     A David Ackerson is enumerated in Sparta, Sussex County in 1855; household consists of 2 males and 2 females, and 3 children between 5 and 16, two boys and a girl.^4,5

     David D Ackerson was born circa 1839.¹ He (1) married Ellen Carlough, daughter of Rachel Straut, in 1859.¹ David D Ackerson (2) married Jemima L Straut, daughter of Abram J Straut and Elizabeth Jane Litchult, on 2 February 1879.¹

     Garret G Ackerson was the County Clerk of Bergen County.¹ He and Sophia had at least one more daughter:

     Garret Ackerson Jr. was born on 15 September 1840.³ He married Ann Elizabeth Zabriskie on 9 July 1863 at New Bridge, NJ, (He was a lawyer, living at Hackensack; she at New Bridge.)^2,4,1,3 Garret Ackerson Jr. died on 23 December 1886 at Hackensack, NJ.¹
