     David H Riker was born in 1835 at New Jersey.¹ He married Eliza Ferris.¹ David H Riker died on 9 August 1876 at Montclair, NJ.^2,3 He was buried in Rosedale Cemetery in Orange.³

     The 1870 census lists David H Riker and Eliza at Montclair, Essex County, NJ, with James H Riker, Rhoda A Riker, Marie E Riker, Phoebe Riker and Fredrick L Riker.¹ David H Riker was a farmer.¹ He and Eliza had seven children, acc. to Find-A-Grave. Rhoda is not listed. Carrie (1851-1873, but not listed in 1870 census), James (1855-1883), Edward H (1861-<1870), Ella B (1861-1863), Marie E, Phoebe, Fredrick (all listed in 1870 and 1880), are all buried in Rosedale Cemetery.³

     The 1880 census lists David Tuers and Rhoda at Montclair, Essex County, NJ, with their daughter Henriette; A.M. Baldwin (M, 67, boarder); and on the next page sisters Marie, Phoebe and Frieda (resp. 16, 14, 11), and Lydia Riker (8); George Veary (M, 25, driver), and Holland Leeb (M, 31, driver.)⁴
     NOTE: James Turse surmises that the children living with Rhoda and her husband could be the children of William F. Riker, who died 3 Oct 1862 as a soldier during the Civil War, but they are all born after his death, so that seems unlikely! Name variation: Rhoda A Riker.² Married name: Rhoda Tuers.⁴

     Elizabeth Ring was born at Suffolk, England, (She was of Ufford at marriage.)¹ She was baptized on 23 February 1601/2 at Ufford, Suffolk, England.¹ She married Josiah Cooke, son of Francis Cooke and Hester Mahieu, on 16 September 1635 at Plymouth, MA.¹ Elizabeth Ring died on 28 December 1687 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, MA.¹

     Aefje Ringo was baptized on 28 February 1685 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Tobias Stoutenburg and Wyntie Stoutenburg; father Albertus Ringo, mother Jannetje Stoutenburg.)^3,4 She married Willem Van de Water, son of Hendrick Van de Water and Margriet van der Meullen, on 3 February 1705.^1,5,6 (Banns on 12 January 1705. He was Willem Van de Water, jm; she Aafje Ringo, jd, both from N. York.)⁶

     Albertus Ringo was from N. Yorke when he married.¹ He was baptized on 9 July 1656 at New York City (DRC) (sponsors: Hendrick Hendrickszen, Jan Schryver, and Aeltje Schryvers; father Philip Janszen, mother Geertie Cornelis.)^1,2 He married Jannetje Stoutenburg, daughter of Pieter Stoutenburg and Aefje Van Tienhoven, on 13 August 1679 at New York City (DRC.)³ (Banns on 27 July 1679. He was Albertus Ringo, jm from N. Yorke; she Jannetje Stoutenburg, jd, as above.)⁴

     Albert and Jannetje were listed in the NYDC memberlist of 1686 as "Albertus Ringo and his wife Jannetje Stoutenburg" (member #326-7, name #411-2.)⁵ Albertus Ringo and Jannetje had six more children, all bp. NYDC:

     Philip Janszen Ringo married Geertje Cornelis on 11 August 1647 at New York City (DRC) (He was Philip Janszen Ringo jm from Vlissingen; she Geertje Cornelis, widow of Jan Philipszen from Amsterdam.)^2,3 Philip Janszen Ringo died before 21 March 1662 (he fell overboard from the ship "The Netherland Indian" on an eastbound trip.)^4,5

     Beatrice Ray Risden was born in 1909 at New Jersey. She married John F. Hamel.

     Catherine Theresa Risden was born on 10 September 1904 at New Jersey. She married Alton Bollinger on 20 October 1933 at Manhattan, NY.¹

     Joseph Risden Jr. was born on 9 April 1894. He died in May 1975.

     Richard Allen Risden was born on 2 January 1906 at Hawthorne, Passaic County, NJ. He (1) married Sarah Elma Hancon, daughter of Harry Hancon and Margaret May Dunlop, on 13 June 1933. Richard Allen Risden (2) married Lorene Nash in 1980.¹ Richard Allen Risden died on 12 February 1998 at Tavares, Lake County, FL. He was buried in West Point.

     Richard Allen Risden's obituary appeared on 4 December 1998 (date rather late) He was born in a house at the corner of Lafayette and Rea Aves., Hawthorne, Passaic, NJ. Dick was an exceptional baseball player (catcher). As an elementary student he played for high school teams and in high school he was scouted by the Boston Red Sox.
He attended Asbury Park High School, and was a catcher for Neptune HS baseball team. He graduated Neptune Township H.S. on 19 Jun 1926, and started attending U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY. on July 1. He worked for the Newburgh News, and later (1929) attended the University of Maryland. In 1933 he graduated from West Point.
     He was stationed in Fort Benning, GA in 1940. On Dec 15, 1944 he joined the headquarters in Italy as assistant adjutant general and adjutant general of Corps Headquarters near Echelon, which culminated in the defeat and surrender of the enemy forces in Italy.
On 27 Sep 1945 he traveled to Dublin, Ireland, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in combat from 15 Dec 1944 to 2 May 1945 in Italy.
In 1947 he was living with his family in the U.S. Occupation Zone in Germany.
In 1952 Dick commanded the 17th Infantry Regiment in Korea. He was decorated for his combat service with the Legion of Merit with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Silver Star with Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendant, Combat Infantry Badge, the Italian Cross of War Merit and the Purple Heart. In 1954 he was assigned to the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
In October 1956 he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general. His new assignment was with the Military Assistance Advisory Group in Formosa. He served first as Deputy Chief of the Army Section of MAAG, Taiwan, then as chief of the Army section, adviser to the commander in chief of the Chinese Army. To better prepare himself to advise on airborne employment, he completed paratrooper training with the Chinese Army Airborne Regiment and was the first American graduated from the Chinese Army Jump School, for which he was awarded Chinese jumpwings.
In April 1959 he became the new commander of Fort Carson, CO.
