The children living in 1900 were probably Newton (1862-1839, d. in Blooming Grove, PA, buried in NY Cemetery with his parents, married Melissa (Lizzie) Winters on 2 Nov 1887), Annie (married Henry Stagg on 21 Feb 1883), and Frederick (married Alida C. Earle on 20 Jul 1893).

Robert Lee Van Zandt is born 28 Nov 1867 in Bergen County (Moonachey), parents are Levi Van Zandt and Francis Van Zandt. This would correspond with the age of Frederick in the 1880 (13) and 1900 (Nov 1867) census.10,11,12,9,13,14,15
On 26 May 1904 an article appeared in the Hackensack Republican, that Levi was found dead in NYC on 23 May. Later (on 23 Jun) it was reported that he had died of natural causes.16,17
Acc. to Bergen Families Van Saun File, Levi is a son of Henry J. Van Saun and Ruth Fredericks. This informaton comes from the Van Zandt Society Website. There is confusion about the third child: Robert Lee (birthdate known) Frederick (in the census, marriage.)18 Name variation: Van Zandt.9,4 Name variation: Levi Van Saun.18
The children living in 1900 were probably Newton (1862-1839, d. in Blooming Grove, PA, buried in NY Cemetery with his parents, married Melissa (Lizzie) Winters on 2 Nov 1887), Annie (married Henry Stagg on 21 Feb 1883), and Frederick (married Alida C. Earle on 20 Jul 1893).

Jitske Van Assen was born on 10 March 1915 at Dantumawoude, Dantumadeel, Friesland, The Netherlands.2 She married Henry Ritsma on 6 July 1939 at Dantumadeel, Friesland, The Netherlands.3,1 Jitske Van Assen died on 6 February 2001 at Lakewood, Jefferson County, CO.2,4 She was buried in Paramus.5

The names of the father and the son seem to have been exchanged in the newsarticle.3 Henry Ritsma and Jitske lived in 1966 at 317 North 11th Street at Paterson, Passaic County, NJ.3 Her parents were Pieter van Assen and Martje Harmens de Boer.2 Married name: Joyce Ritsma.3
