Beverly and John Lathrop were residents of Stonington most of their lives before moving to Florida. Beverly moved to Wallingford to be close to family after John's death. She was a graduate of Joseph Lawrence School of Nursing in New London. She had been an executive secretary for her husband's insurance business in Stonington. She was an active member of Calvary Church in Stonington, where she served on the Altar Guild for over 30 years, and where she and her husband had been co-directors for over eight years. Since moving to Wallingford, she had been active with St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Chambers and son-in-law, Mieczyslaw Talipski, of Belle Harbor, N.Y., and Peggy Knets of Groton; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Barbara Lathrop of Wallingford; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.1

Jessie Irene Truss was born on 3 March 1894 at 99 Sturbridge St., Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England.2 She was baptized on 23 February 1910 at Worcester, England, (Angel St. Congregational Church.) She married John Henry (Jack) Goodman, son of John G Goodman and Elizabeth Hawkes, on 12 April 1914 at Brooklyn, NY, (Christ Church, Bedford Ave.) (by Rev William Sheafe Chase, Rector.)3 Jessie Irene Truss was buried in September 1960 in Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic, Prayer by Jack at funeral:
O Almighty God, we thank You for all blessings you give unto us, and all people. We ask thee O God to bless the departed Soul of our Dear Jessie, Wife, Mother, and Sister, also sharing her long stay with us, in all her sickness.
Help us, O God to be prepared for the same as Jessie was, to enter into Thy Kingdom Above. Amen. She died on 14 September 1960 at Mystic, CT.
