They immigrated in 1880, and he was naturalised.² The 1910 census lists William Trotter and Mary Jane at Paterson (ward 11), Passaic County, NJ, with their daughter Florence. Lena and her husband Charles C. More are living with them, as are the rest of the children: Albert, Elizabeth, Anna, Walter, and Francis. William is a contractor, Mary a weaver. According to this census they immigrated in 1878. Florence is a sales lady, Charles More is a printer, Albert is a weaver. Frances is listed as Francis, male.³

     NOTE: Originally James Trowbridge was listed as the son of William Trowbridge, however James has a marriage date of 1659, and his purported father Willam has a marriage date of 1657. It seems more likely that James is William's brother, esp. since William has another son James!
     NOTE: James Trowbridge (1664-1732) has children Daniel and Abigail with dates; James Trowbridge (1636-1717) has the same names without dates. These are not in the Find-A-Grave entry. It seems possible that there is a mix-up, especially since James (1636-1717) was originally misassigned. The Trowbridge Genealogy has an Abigail (who married James Greenwood and Joseph Cheney) as daughter of James (1636-1717), but no Daniel. Trowbridge Genealogy has a son Daniel (who married Sarah Seymour) for James (1664-1732). This Daniel has a son Ebenezer (b. 1757), and the descendants correspond to what was entered from the Trowbridge File as descendants of James (1636-1717).
