Lambert ten Bruggencate was born c 1685 in Heerlijkheid Almelo.3,2 He (1) married Janna Hagedoorn, daughter of Hendrik Hagedoorn and Geertjen Arentsen Rhee,1 (banns (NH) 7 May 1713, Almelo.)2 He (2) married (NH) Piternella Wolters, daughter of Hendrik Wolters, on 17 Nov 1743 in Almelo1 (banns (NH) 5 Oct 1743, Almelo, also in Amsterdam. On 26 Oct they received papers from Amsterdam to get married in Almelo.)1,7 He died bet 1746 - 1748, because he sells a house in 1746, and his wife is a widow in the census.8,9

He was a skipper and merchant10 Lambert ten Bruggencate was on the council of Almelo from 1731-1735, and 1737-1745. In 1736 he was replaced, because he was absent.11,12
Lambert ten Bruggencate, of Almelo, merchant and skipper, of the Dutch Reformed faith, has on 29 Jun 1730 for himself and his son Harmen ten Bruggencate, age 9 years, obtained the "klein Burgerschap" (limited citizenship), and has sworn the citizen's oath.10
Lambert ten Bruggencate and Gerrit ten Bruggencate are mentioned in a bill for the monastery of Albergen13 Lambert ten Bruggencate sends a bill to Huize Almelo in 1743.11

Hendrik Claassen, and his wife Geesjen Berentsen Keusekamp conveyed to Lambert ten Bruggencate, and his wife Janna Hagedoorn and heirs, their half house, smithy, yard and garden, which the late Albert Claassen had bought on 22 Mar 1702, next to the Gerrit Jelerink's alley, the other half of which belonged to the late Jan Klaassen.14

Gerrit ten Bruggencate, Lambert ten Bruggencate, Jan ten Bruggencate and Gradus Rompelman, with their resp. wives Berendje ten Bruggencate, Janna Hagedoorn, Fenneken ten Bruggencate, and Geertjen ten Bruggencate, and also Gerrit Rompelman as guardian over the minor children of Jan ten Bruggenkate and Hermen ten Bruggencate, all heirs of the late Burgemeester Herman ten Bruggencate, conveyed, their house, and the rear house until the ditch, between the house of Waander van Oonk en dat van Jan Jansen Kippers. The buyer is not mentioned.15

Burgemeester Gerrit Bolk, as administrator of the Gasthuis of the Stad Almelo conveyed to Gerrit Boomkamp, and his wife Jenneken Holtman and to Lambert ten Bruggencate and his wife Janna Hagedoorn, the house and yard, with the land next to it, between the house of Henrik ten Cate and the Mennonite church.16

Gerrit Boomkamp, and his wife Jenneken Holtkamp, and Lambert ten Bruggencate and his wife Janna Hagedoorn took out a mortgage, with the Count of Rechteren, master of Almelo and Vriezenveen and his wife the Countess of Castel, with as collateral the house and yard, with the land next to it, between the house of Henrik ten Cate and the Mennonite church.17

Gerhard Boom, Dr. A. J. Dull and Dr. G.H. Hein, together appointed guardians over the estate of Jacobus Rutgers and his wife Christiena Smedes conveyed to Lambert ten Bruggencate, and heirs, the house and yard, previously owned by Jacobus Rutgers and his wife Christiena Smedes, located in the Klumpersgang next to the Gasthuis.18
Stadsgericht, Almelo, 14 Jan 1743:
Lambert ten Bruggencate, for himself and as father and guardian of his minor children conveyed to Nicolaas Harwig, and his wife and heirs, their half house and yard, with the storehouse behind it, between the house of Hermannus Spijker and the half house of Pieter van Haarst.19
Stadsgericht, Almelo, 20 Sep 1746:
Lambert ten Bruggencate, and his wife Piternella Wolters conveyed to Henricus Aersen, and his wife Gesina Rompelman and heirs, their house and yard, between the Poorhouse and the water, which Swier Doelen is now renting.9
