At the age of 16 he started law school (?harvard); attended from 1805-1808.¹ Daniel Elmer was a judge on the Supreme Court and attended the convention to adopt a state constitution. He was also president of the Cumberland Bank of Bridgeton.¹

He was the collector of customs in Bridgeton from 1808 to the War of 1812.      Edward then went to Hartford, CT in 1636, moved to Northampton, MA in 1654 and returned to Hartford in 1660. He bought land in Podunk, now South Windsor.
     Another Elmore immigrant came to America in the 17th century with the Lady Ross expedition and landed in North Carolina.
     Edward was killed by Indians at time of King Phillips War.^1,2 Name variation: Edward Aylmer.¹ Name variation: Edward Elmore.¹
